Kobach – Refugees and Terrorism: A Massive Vulnerability in Our Immigration System
breitbart ^ | KRIS W. KOBACH

Posted on 06/21/2017 5:05:04 PM PDT by davikkm

The left-leaning Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals recently ruled against the Trump Administration’s “travel ban” and kept in place the preliminary injunction that prevents President Trump’s executive order from going into effect. In a classic case of judicial activism, the three Clinton-appointed judges declared that the president’s order “does not offer a sufficient justification” to satisfy them. Never mind that the relevant statute does not require the president to satisfy federal judges (or anyone else, for that matter) that his decision is a good one.

Like other liberal critics of the president, the judges questioned whether the six nations subject to a 90-day travel ban (Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen) really represent the most dangerous sources of terrorists in the world. No doubt this discussion will continue in the court of public opinion.

But while the six-nation part of the executive order is important, it is not the most important part. What many people are missing is that the greatest benefit of the executive order comes from the 120-day suspension of refugee admissions, along with the imposition of higher standards of screening on aliens seeking refugee status.

The United States refugee/asylum system has been, and continues to be, a major loophole in our immigration system. By my count, at least 30 terrorists have used refugee status (or presence in the United States based on asylum claims) to carry out their terrorist activities in the United States since the 1993 World Trade Center attack.*

More muslims = more terrorism. Even a second grader can figure out that equation.

We should have no refugee and asylum immigration. Any immigrant admitted should meet one qualification: they are someone we NEED in this country. And NEED should be defined very specifically and in a very limited way. Not every camel herder that WANTS entry is entitled to entry, even if they are not on a terror watch list.

As a matter of fact, given their violent dispositions, mohammedans should be presumptively barred from entry as a category.

He cowardly avoided demanding proof of identity for Obama. The disaster of the past eight years and it’s ongoing effects might never have occurred had he an ounce of integrity. He’s another phony Republican.

I know Kris personally and have worked with him on immigration issues for years. His integrity is unquestioned and he has been the brains behind our fight to enforce our immigration laws.

I have no idea what you are talking about re Obama, but Kris has been fighting against both the Reps and the Dems on the immigration issue. He is now working on the voter fraud issue for Trump and Sessions.

You haven't a clue when it comes to Kris Kobach.

Kobach repeatedly called on Obama to release his birth certificate and defended those who pushed the false notion that Barack Obama was born in Kenya.

As Kansas Secretary of State, he requested additional evidence of Obama's birth before he would allow Obama to appear on Kansas ballots for the 2012 presidential election, even after the release of Obama's long-form birth certificate. In 2009, Kobach "joked at a GOP barbecue that Obama and God had something in common because neither has a birth certificate." Kobach responded to criticism of the joke with "Lighten up. It’s just a joke... Are they really suggesting it is forbidden to tell jokes about Barack Obama?"

In 2010, during his candidacy for the Kansas secretary of state, Kobach said that Obama could end the controversy over his citizenship by producing a “long-form” birth certificate. At the time, Hawaii officials had repeatedly confirmed Obama's birth in their state, and a federal judge had thrown out a lawsuit on the issue, saying it was a waste of the court’s time.

Kobach said that the certificate released by Obama "doesn’t have a doctor’s signature on it. .. Look, until a court says otherwise, I'm willing to accept that he's a natural U.S. citizen. But I think it is a fair question: Why just not produce the long-form birth certificate?"

In September 2012, whilst leading the State Objections Board, Kobach requested additional evidence that Obama was born in the United States. Kobach said he did not have enough evidence to determine if Obama could appear on the Kansas ballot for the 2012 presidential election. The New York Times wrote that the action of the Kansas authorities "reignited long-running conspiracy theories that the president was not born in the United States." CNN reported that "the Kansas ballot measure is one of several examples of the birther movement's still-persistent presence."

At the time, Obama had released his long-form birth certificate but CBS News noted that "so-called "birthers" persist with a variety of arguments that he is ineligible for the presidency. Generally, they claim that the birth certificate as released by the president is a forgery or that he is not eligible for the presidency despite being born in Hawaii."

Kobach maintained that the questioning of Obama's citizenship was not frivolous. Later that September, after a complainant dropped his challenge of Obama's eligibility for the Kansas ballot and after Hawaii officials stated sent a note to Kobach saying that Obama's birth certificate was genuine, Kobach allowed Obama to remain on the ballot and said, "That, for me, settles the issue".

In 2016, Kobach said that there are “interesting things” about the question of Obama’s citizenship that “just made you scratch your head.” Kobach said that Obama's opposition to Kansas's proof of citizenship requirement law was "maybe" because the president was not a citizen himself: "maybe that’s why he doesn’t talk about proof of citizenship, because he, you know, he would rather not bring up the citizenship issue.

Yep!

Don't know Ray76 and don't know if he's from Colorado rolling his own or if he's also running for Gov. of KS, but wherever he got his inside info on Kobach refusing to stand up to Obama on the birther issue is snuz to me.

I've been working with and supporting Kris for nearly a decade (before Obama was a standin for Geo. Soros) and where Ray76's coming from must be top secret, as no one I know has any idea what he's referring to!
