the GOP has declared that RomneyCARE will be here FOREVER.

the US government will, however, keep THEMSELVES EXEMPT
along with THEIR families and THEIR Staff.

What a fetid mess. I see no way out of this without simply abandoning their efforts and allowing 0care to implode. The problem is that HC premia will be 40+% high by the time it does. The whole concept of HC subsidies and all the ridiculousness is a hea seeking missile aimed squarely at US solvency.

Actually....that is not true. There *is* a way.

The single way out of this, having addicted 1-2-3% of the US public on this new entitlement....is to pay doctors/providers in tax credits and not money. With 15 year penalties for fraud.

Health sharing cuts out the government. May be the way to go.

Curious how this bill will help the millions of self-employed forced onto CrapCare with its outrageous cost structure 70% more than before. Unlikely it will solve jack.

"Like the House bill, the Senate version guts Obamacare's controversial individual and employer mandates."

The House version did NOT gut the individual and employer mandates. It merely reduced the penalty for not maintaining health insurance to $0, leaving the door wide open for a future Congress to raise it.

Instinct tells me the Senate has done the same.

I love that it is a readable 175 pages. While I don’t plan on reading the whole thing I really like clear, accessible bills

And this is the article the NYT wrote about it:

Shifting Dollars From Poor to Rich Is a Key Part of the Senate Health Bill

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/22/upshot/shifting-dollars-from-poor-to-rich-is-a-key-part-of-the-senate-health-bill.html

I did not want to start its own thread, but people need to be aware of it — this is what is presented as news in the NYT — which is still read by too many people.
