Moreover, versions of the House and especially the Senate version are completely flawed. They will not allow citizens residing in states that are hostile to gun rights to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights (Hawaii, California, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, etc).
For us, it just "tough luck."
What is with this GOP Congress? Are they so infested with "Never Trumpers" and hatred for the Presdident that they simply refuse to pass anything?
Even in the wake of the shooting of GOP members of Congress, they are doing nothing. My prediction is they will pass a law for themselves only - one that allows members of Congress to concealed carry a handgun in DC and other places, but not the rest of us lemmings.
“Such laws allow a permit holder to carry his gun for self-defense in Indiana, but criminalize carrying in Illinois.”
My Illinois CCL is valid in Indiana but Indiana’s is not in Illinois. Just a clarification.

Why is south Carolina red on that map?
What is with the green in Pennsylvania and the red in solid flyover country like Nebraska and South Carolina?
United States ConstitutionArticle IV (Article 4 - States' Relations), Section 1
Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State. And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof.
The NY rep indicates the ball players should have been armed? Really? They are going to pack heat on the ball field?
It would have been far better if their “guards” hadn’t been sitting on their butts in the air conditioned car and actually been providing the security they were paid to provide.
The victims were lucky there weren’t 10 dead folks there.
The issue I have with national concealed carry is the same issue I have with Obamacare.
Do we want the fed gov taking over our concealed carry rights?? They would take that over and screw it up faster than anything.
It would be so draconian. No way!
I’m not in favor of the feds having any more power in this area.
You are guaranteed that national Constitutional carry is not going to happen any time soon. So what requirements will the feds impose for a state’s permit to be valid nationally? You are much more likely to see permissive “shall issue” states being required to enhance restrictions than restrictive states being required to loosen them.
We are making steady progress, year by year, state by state. Let’s not screw it up by getting the feds involved.
Keep the feds out of this. States can work it all out themselves.
Because of the 10th Amendment.
The 10th doesn’t allow states to violate the 2nd. Or 1st, 4th,5th, or any other.
In the Heller decision, the Supreme Court recognized a state's power to place reasonable restrictions on firearms. That makes it a 10th Amendment issue.
I live in Suffolk County NY, Congressman, I wonder if I could get a carry permit. Actually I don’t have to wonder at all...
The Heller decision should not interfere with reciprocity between states. In other words, the state that issues a permit is merely the paper holder for the weapon.
In the Dred Scott decision...
In Roe vs Wade...

Oh wait I don't need anyone's permission
Oh wait I don't need anyone's permission
Oh wait I don't need anyone's permission
we need national constitutional carry, then reciprocity won’t matter
