Is being Christian a crime in Michigan?
Fox News.com ^ | June 27, 2017 | John Moody

A group of Iraqi Christians facing deportation under President Trump’s tough new border controls has been given a temporary reprieve, but could still be sent back to face what their attorney calls almost certain death.

A U.S. District Judge issued a stay this week on the deportation of 82 Chaldean and Assyrian Christians from the Detroit area, who have criminal records, but who have served their prison time and paid their debt to society.

Their lawyer, Clarence M. Dass, points out that some of those criminal convictions date back to the 1980s and 1990s and involve drugs and financial misdeeds, not violent crimes. He wonders if his clients have been targeted for deportation by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency precisely because they are Christians. ICE denies that allegation.

“It’s peculiar to me that 99 percent of the people who were rounded up on June 10-11 were Chaldeans and Assyrians,” Dass told me. “In Michigan, only two Muslims are among those facing deportation. It seems weird that this happened after Congress declared Chaldeans and Assyrians victims of genocide.”

I’m with you 100% on that, brother.

I hope ICE isn’t doing this to demonstrate they’re being ‘fair’ and ‘nondiscriminatory’ in who they deport, just to placate the real vermin.

Gotta start using your heads on this, girls.

If being a Christian in Michigan is not yet a crime, it may soon be. Failure to enforce the laws on the books means that soon any “law” that is asserted will take on Shariah overtones.

NO!!!!

DO NOT SEND CHRISTIANS BACK TO CERTAIN DEATH! They are genuine refugees.

Can’t believe the Trump Administration would allow this to go forward

They are likely muslims claiming they are Christians to create public outrage.

As a general rule, Christians are not the type of lawbreakers outlined in the article.

Most of them I know are very good people. They’re also probably a significant reason Michigan turned red. My neighbors are Chaldean, have been for a long time. They’re law abiding contributors to our society.

Get rid of them. We don’t need criminals who claim to be Christians just to milk the American taxpayer.

Christians are persecuted all over the world but we would go more deeply bankrupt if we brought them all over here.

What kind of lawbreakers are Christians?

They were criminals in the 1980’s and are still here.

First the headline is a lie, they are not being deported because they are Christian. 2nd, the writer is trying to spin when he quotes their lawyer as saying “some of those criminal convictions date back to the 1980s and 1990s and involve drugs and financial misdeeds, not violent crimes”. How many? That could be a true statement even if 90% of them were convicted of murder and bank robbery last year. Some actual statistics would be in order, but that might require some work on the part of the “journalist”.

Now whether anyone should be deported to a situation where they face likely death for being Christian (or any other religion) is a separate question, one worth having without the spin and distortion.

Does the entire state of Michigan have Sharia law?

I doubt it since there is a big Christian based company in Michigan.

And middle Eastern Christians work hard to become Americans and the first couple of generations retain cultural roots( note: certainly NOT Arab or Moslem cultural roots)sufficiently that they stay away from the traps of modern American society that are encapsulated in the terms “Democrat Party” and “Progressive.”

Not the entire state, by any means. But there a LOT of enclaves, essentially “no-go” zones, where Shariah law prevails. There is a similar situation in Minnesota, Garrison Keillor notwithstanding.

To be sent back is a death sentence. If you have done the time and are living a decent life, why send them back to be killed?

This needs to be investigated. If they are serious criminals, get them out. If not, cut them a break for being Christians.

Øbama freed hundreds of ferals from prison. Seems Trump could do the same (with Christians who have served their time) and avoid MSM criticism.

Well, then, according to some FReepers, all the people rounded up "never became Christians", because, according to them "a Christian can tell you the exact day and time he was saved by accepting Christ as his his lord and savior and becoming born again"

SE Michigan born & bred. Stayed in the same neighborhood for 49 years.

You've no idea what my first three kids had to put up with in high school. Wish I would have gone private. My fourth one is on an academically gifted program, so only a half day in high school. Those Arab and Chaldean kids are simply unruly animals.
