Toomey, Hershey makes candy in Mexico...more than in Hershey, PA.
And with a few more “wins” like this Hershey will make all of their candy somewhere besides the USA. Does “Buy American” include enriching just a few US Sugar producers? I suppose it does but then the logic for steel, rubber, and wood isn’t any different than sugar.
The only thing worse than Mexican sugar barons is American sugar barons. The sugar industry is a terrific case study of cronyism:
