It’s my understanding that they draw a sharp distinction between forcibly violating a weaker male, and engaging in a mutually agreed upon homosexual liaison.

that’s because there interpretation of gay is different. it has to do with penetration. if you are the one enjoying the act of penetrating some one else you are not gay if you are the one who likes being penetrated by a lover then you are gay.
