I’m a supporter, but Trump is a thin skinned a$$. This $hit is TOTALLY beneath the Office of the President. He shouldn’t even dignify these dopes with his attention, yet he can’t take his f^cking finger off the Tweet button. This aspect of his Presidency is a friggin disaster. Someone ought to smash his cell phone and block Twitter on the White House PCs... . Enough already.
With all due respect to your position and opinion, I’ve come to the opposite conclusion.
For far, far too long, Republican Presidents and administrations have allowed the ‘press’ to act as their ‘interpreters’ to the people of the United States. The ‘Press’ then manipulates and creates public opinion to their own needs and ends.
Now that a President has found a method of going around the ‘press’, they have gone insane in anger and from what I can tell... Fear. Fear that their power and influence have been bypassed and yes... may be permanently damaged or even destroyed as their Corporate sponsors and owners are forced to divest themselves of these Media companies.
Yes, President Trump does Tweet things that can make a sane person cringe. But after watching this man and how he manipulates the emotions of the Press Corp, I can now see the good he does when he throws out a tweet that infuriates the ‘press’ and other politicians.
They become emotionally unhinged and concentrate on the inconsequential tweet while ‘something’ important is accomplished in the shadow of verbal fury directed back at him. It’s a great tactic and the ‘Press’ falls for it nearly every time.
At least you’ve made your point respectfully and politely which is more than I can say for many of the people that have responded on this thread and perpetuate the notion that we here are a bunch of rude, racist rednecks.
I have zero problem with him bashing the media. Even with tweets. He can attack the NYT, CNN, etc.. but the personal stuff is beneath him. It makes him look like a cry baby. It’s not a help. The people on this forum are not a good cross section of his voting support. We’re a niche.
And just like Hillary motivated people to come out and vote against her, he’s motivating Dems with this garbage to come out and vote against him. But first, he’s providing fodder for the midterm elections. That will be the first barometer.
I just wish he’d shut the hell up and get more done. Where’s the wall? His ability to deal on Obamacare? Tax Reform? Let’s go!
