Too many crazy people and illegals in Florida, weather may be good but well.... Hurricanes!
Coastal Alaska ( Haines) would be my first choice.
I have lived through a tornado in Michigan, a hurricane in Maryland, but experienced no hurricanes in Florida. Lots more crazies in the NE, upper midwest, and the Pacific states.
