A police station has been firebombed and cars and buildings set alight in the German city of Hamburg, where world leaders are holding crunch talks today.
Police have called for reinforcements after tens of thousands of protesters descended on Hamburg, causing chaos.
US First Lady Melania Trump is reportedly trapped inside her hotel room and some world leaders were late arriving to the G20 summit because of the protests.
Shocking footage shows smoke billowing from vehicles as the city hosting the G20 summit looked like a warzone.
German police confirmed this morning that the police station had been targeted by 'perpetrators of violence', as thousands of officers flood the streets anticipating violent demonstrations.
It comes after more than 70 people were injured in clashes between riot police and anti-capitalists last night, with a march named 'Welcome to Hell' descending into chaos.
This morning Hamburg police used a water cannon to clear a blockade by protesters ahead of the opening of the summit.

Hamburg was chosen as the site of G20 in Feb 2016. 2016. 2016.
The poster I was responding to said these protests have been referred to as “Kristallnact 2”. I researched Kristallnact, and found that violence in 1938 was specifically against Jews. Thus my question of why that term is used to describe these protests.
I think they meant the violence against people they don’t like, which is the basic definition of Kristallnact.
I was confused by the phrase ” Jewish underpinning to globalist entities”. There is no such thing. #FakeNews
Now that is a very good idea. I wonder why they don’t plan these meetings in isolated places. Could it be that they are stupid or do they want to make a show to feel important.
It’s not a theory - Merkel explicitly stated she wanted it there to expose Trump to protests that she knew would be more vociferous in Hamburg. Given the political climate, she should have chose another location for security concerns, but she did not.

Merkel is insane. She is like a kid with her fingers in her ears yelling I can’t hear you...la..la..la.la.. as all the irrational policies she has been pursing are falling in ruins around her.
The Germans are now beginning to pay the price for her fanaticism as the Swedes have been paying for theirs.

But a decision could have been made to change the venue when it became obvious that a large violent protest was planned.
Why don’t we pull out of the G20, G8, WTO, UN, and anything else not in our interest. Trump should have gotten back on his plane and left. The Hell with these Rioters and Thugs.
I keep wondering where tons of these protestors get their riot gear.
Do they have to PAY Soros for it? Or do they get free equipment, too?
I noticed they have these special zippy “water suits” so their clothes don’t get wet when they get sprayed.
A few years ago they had one of these G-20 conferences in Pittsburgh and it worked very well. Pittsburgh proper is a small downtown area surrounded by bridges over our three rivers and the city basically told the businesses to take Friday off and they closed the bridges to traffic unrelated to the conference and restricted entry into the city for the weekend. There were one or two weak spots where protesters could walk down access roads from the university area in Oakland so there was some police/protester involvement and lawsuits for years, but all in all things went well.
Good idea.
Trump is aggressively protective of his family, so let’s see what happens.
