Every apocolyptic science fiction pulp press and serial newspapers and magazines have been publishing this fiction since the 1850s or earlier. Sheesh.

It is impossible to imagine a scenario where Earth becomes one tenth as inhospitable to human life as Mars, and yet people are talking about sending ships and material all the way to Mars to build human habitats.

I just finished reading it;) Almost posted it, but did check first.

A very long article and wanted to be able to find it again. We should not dismiss all of the scientific data and the concerns which are discussed.

This is nothing new. Overpopulation, fossil fuel depletion, and starvation were predicted decades ago, but the doomsday scenario didn’t happen.

The earth is going to become, WHATEVER it becomes...and mankind has no control, or power, over it.

Polls indicate support for “climate change” action is softening, so they have to ramp up the scare factor. It’s always worse than you thought. The fraudulent “scientists” need more money to keep pumping out garbage papers and going to conferences at Copenhagen and Paris.

If they really think it’s getting so bad, why won’t they commit mass suicide so they won’t have to go through something so horrific???? Actions speak louder than words.

Quite a bunch of drivel packed together there. Their sea level rise projections are nonsense, especially considering the record snow on Greenland last winter.

But let's take one tiny example, a Persian Gulf heat index of 163. First, those were registered in 1920's when they were not measuring them much. The heat record from the Middle East is from Israel in the 1920's where they were measuring. Second, the 163 heat index creates convection which brings in "cooler" air from the Gulf. Granted not much cooler with water temperatures in the 90's. But those water temperatures have also been like that for a century or more.

There are even more superficial arguments in the piece but their human habitability argument is ignorance on parade.

Climate change has been going on forever...Greenland was called that for a reason....it was green. There were once glaciers in central Wisconsin, they’re now gone.....corn fields abound.....

Welp, the only cure for all this global warming/global cooling/climate change/inconvenient Powerpoint science is more tax money, preferably a global tax.

Not if you’re actually running the tax scam/scheme, though. You’re safe then.

In an era of "coming ice age", SOYLENT GREEN was one of the first depictions of Global Warming. Predicting 2022 New York as a craphole, and continued use of Smith & Wesson J-frame revolvers proves this is a prescient vision of the future.

Earth’s human population has never been so dense since the beginning of time. All life on earth affects the environment; flora and fauna. Breathing exchanges gases. But humans don’t just ‘breathe’ we burn fuel in massive amounts. Humans devour vegetation and meat in massive amounts. Our buildings, roads etc., consume energy.

Life is a cycle and recycler so the earth is not pristine - it never was and it never will be. Volcanoes, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes and other life forces affect plants and animals; beneficial and harmful.

I am not a ‘global warming’ advocate but it is fascinating to find, read and analyze this type of literature.

As individuals we will never meet all the billions of our fellow man who are here, right now —— and we will never meet those who have died before us, or who will be born after us.

God bless

Humans devour vegetation and meat in massive amounts. Our buildings, roads etc., consume energy.

Our energy supply (proven reserves) constantly increases. Also as we move out of caves and build those buildings and roads our birthrate inevitably declines. The standard Malthusian argument that we will reach and then exceed the earth's capacity has never been true and never will be true. As technology accelerates the Malthusians are left in the dust and that's the main reason they dwell on global warming alarmism pointing to every bit of bad weather as a step towards doom.

But bad weather is not increasing. Warming is real but small and not going to cause problems any time before we have the advancements to deal with it.

Several thousand years ago the Arctic was thawed, the sea levels were higher, most places were warmer, and the people thrived. It was the warm age that allowed mankind to turn to agriculture that allowed civilization.

Then there was the Little Ice Age. Human civilization was advanced enough to survive but did not prosper.

If I woke up from a 20 year coma and the first thing I read was this article I would probably kill myself.

I am a bit of a worrier, but thank God I don’t worry one iota about nonsense like this. Enough worries in my life that I don’t need fake ones. I may as well worry about Martians invading. In which case my doctor would say I have paranoid delusions.
