House Democrat files article of impeachment against Trump

Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.) formally introduced an article of impeachment against President Trump on Wednesday that accuses the president of obstructing justice during the federal investigation of Russia’s 2016 election interference.
This is the first time a lawmaker has offered an impeachment article against Trump, and comes despite concern among Democrats that taking such aggressive action against the president will create backlash against the party.
A majority vote in a House now controlled by Republicans is required to impeach a president. Republicans have a 24-seat advantage.
Sherman argues that Trump’s abrupt firing of James Comey as FBI director in May amounts to obstructing justice and "high crimes and misdemeanors" amid the probes of whether Trump's campaign colluded with the Russian government to swing the election.
He cites Comey’s allegations that Trump pressured him to drop the FBI’s investigation into ousted former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn, as well as Trump’s shifting story on why he fired Comey.

It wouldn’t have done any good. This won’t either.
The notion that Donald, Jr. did something wrong, now being promoted by the Trump haters, seems particularly ridiculous, when one recalls Obama's open mike incident in 2012.
Tactical suggestion: Every time anyone, in conversation, in online posting, in personal correspondence, electronic or in print--wherever!--always couple any discussion with a reminder of Obama's perfidious comment & also reference to Hillary's dealings with Russia & other foreign nations, where it was not simply a matter of a harmless search for information. Also remind anyone being addressed, that Donald Jr., did not offer to compromise American interests in any way. (Obama & Mrs. Clinton, on the other hand . . .!)
We need to take the offensive. It is precisely in the willingness to compromise America's true interests, that the Trump Haters find their common interest. The President's inspiring speech in Warsaw articulated the values that the haters mean to undermine, as demonstrated by their actions over & over again, since the inauguration of Bill Clinton.
Time to go on the offense against the demagogues on the Left. Actually, way past the time for more of us to really get involved!
Maybe it is time for Republicans to propose committing Brad Sherman to a mental institution “for study”...
Democrats worry about such a consequence? They COUNT on the short attention span of the voters in their home districts, and so far, this strategy has been highly successful.
Those districts are so preponderantly Democrat to begin with that the probability of voting in anybody from any other political party is a mathematical impossibility.
Especially when the winning margin may be bussed in or revived from the graveyards. Or just vote absentee with a Mexican postmark.
I caught a segment of Howie Carr. He said, in addition to saying he can’t believe he’s talking about this, is that Sherman and some other LA-based congressman are trying to outdo one another on the stupidity scale so they can be the one to succeed Feinstein.
He gave an example of a couple of MA congresscritters doing the same thing to be the one to succeed The Swimmer.

That said, I would hold fire against the waffling Rhino types in Congress, to see if we cannot win some of them over. (Example would be the many fairly conservative Democrats (in the twenties0, who were intimidated into backing FDR when he pivoted to the far Left in 1933.)

Put it to a vote now. Get everyone on the record and see how it plays out in the 2018 midterms.
