Pence Distances Himself From Fallout Over Don Jr. Meeting
Daily Caller ^ | 07/11/2017 | Peter Hasson

Vice President Mike Pence is putting some distance between himself and President Trump’s oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., following the revelation that Don Jr. accepted a meeting with a Russian lawyer in order to obtain supposed damaging information about Hillary Clinton from the Russian government. A statement released by Pence’s press secretary, Marc Lotter, specifically noted that the meeting took place before Pence joined the campaign as Trump’s running mate.

Is the media trying to say that a political campaign merely meeting with a foreign operative purporting offer information damaging to a political opponent is treasonous? I’d like to see this clarified, and upon what basis such a claim might be based.

Accordingly, I’d also like to understand just how the Clinton campaign and their so-called Trump “dossier” for which they have demonstrably paid isn’t treasonous if so. The Clinton campaign is treasonous, the Jeb Bush campaign is treasonous because they set the whole “dossier” ball rolling, and the FBI is treasonous because they paid for this information, too.

“Treason?” Preposterous and desperate.

I’m more and more convinced that this “wall of hysteria” is Democrats intentionally going on the offensive to sidetrack discovery of their own perfidy. And, as usual, what they’re screaming most loudly about in accusation is where their own biggest problem lies. They love doing that because it sounds like tit for tat if their opponents ever recover from the onslaught sufficiently to begin making serious charges themselves. We’ve seen it again and again. President Trump has a unique gift for seeing and disrupting such patterns in a strategic way, I can’t explain his repeated success in deflecting the Democrats’ own BS back upon them in any other way. So, I hope he’s just biding his time to spring something here. It’s getting worrisome, not that it sounds as if they actually have something, but just the general tone and attitude. They’re losing it and the MSM is losing it right along with them.

I don't think Trump prepared the Don Jr. meeting as a trap for the Dems, but they created the trap for themselves.

Case 1: The Russian Lawyer had no dirt on Hillary, no story.

Case 2: The Russian Lawyer had dirt on Hillary. Even if the dirt is untrue, how is it good for them to bring it up?

He wasn’t caught unaware, they got out in front of this or at least concurrently with the knowledge that the supposed “Russian operative” was in fact an attorney hired by the Democrats. So, is it very far fetched to assume that they may have done their due diligence before sitting down with her to see what she was up to?

Assuming that FR is made up of people that know how to think before emoting is mistake number 1.

Of course not. Pence has been very vocal about his Christianity and his strong support for President Trump.

So if he was lying, his hypocrisy would be clear as day to everyone. He’d be the subject of much ridicule. If he is a sincere Christian, why would he bring that to his Christian testimony? I just can’t see him doing that. He has to know he’d lose a significant portion of the evangelical vote.

I see you got the concern trolls all riled up with this one.

They ignore the loyalty Pence has displayed for the whole duration and take one article as '"proof" there's something wrong with Pence.

Hey all you concern trolls - do something useful for a change....

I'd wager that 90% or so of the concern tolls slamming Pence have never click a link like the one below

Donate to FR

Since they seem to be pulling their opinions out of their own, and other idiots' asses, I guess it wouldn't be appropriate to tell them to put their money where their mouth is....but what the hell.

The more I see and watch Pence, I see the STARK DIFFERENCE between a career politician and a REAL business manager. I feel that he is lactating, just waiting for the birth of his chance of being president.

I hope that Trump is aware of “the ides of March!” I don’t trust Pence farther than I can throw him.

When you go to war, you want someone with fire in his belly. Most Republicans do not have a ounce of fight in them. They are patsies for the left. All they want to do is hide and stay out of the fray. Despite Gingrich’s past, he really was the one Trump should have picked for this knock down drag out fight.

I don’t see how meeting a lawyer from Russia is collusion. If Hillary didn’t do the crimes, he would have never had the evidence.

That is the big concern when you have a criminal politician, they can be blackmailed.

No one cares what this disloyal sack of crap slithering Repubic does or does not do.

Pence is not to be trusted; he is the "inside man", who is plotting to move up, and an agent for the DC swamp [cesspool] denizens .

My guess is that he was added to the ticket to shore up the Midwest. In 2020, he will be expendable and will likely be dropped.

Ever since Inauguration Day, VP Pence has maintained distance from Don Jr.. Don Jr. runs the company that the Trump administration has had to distance themselves from to keep the Dems and media from expecting collusion...

But some in the media (mainstream and other) will theorize that Pence is dreaming of impeachment

For the last week, Drudge Report has been getting creepy about Pence leaning away from Trump...
