Oil lubricates machinery.
Dope lubricates people.
Legalized Dope it makes it much easier and smoother for the government to separate people from their money.
That’s why the government doesn’t want competition from Non-Government Operations, like the Mexican drug cartels.
Interesting and perhaps an accurate conclusion, despite the govt ability to cut of its own nose despite its face.
I admit I have a conundrum with the legal arguments for and against legalized drugs. In the last year now as I am driving to work I now see huge billboards advertising "Marijuana is here". I am very put off by this. Why?
I understand its a states rights issue, but governments at all levels have become corrupt and they now use the excuse that legalization of pot is a necessary source of income. Well, it had to follow from legalized gambling I suppose. No concern for any moral or health issues. If that's the case, why not legalize prostitution everywhere, or all vices for that matter? Hey, its just another revenue source.
There was a time, or so I thought, when govt gave some consideration to the national needs, like having an educated workforce and a healthy pool of male recruits for military service. Legalization in the way it is being handled is detrimental to both those national goals, sending the message that rather than keep a healthy mind and body, its ok to toke up or worse.
I have never, in my entire life, taken an illegal substance, despite the opportunities that have presented themselves over my years. I suspect I am a minority, and I don't hold it against someone who has experimented. I guess I don't really care what people do in their own back yards either. Some may handle this responsibly. Many other don't or can't. It (marijuana) winds up behind the wheel, on the job where mistakes can kill, and yes, for many its the gateway to hard drugs, pain, and family destruction.
Just when I thought we were restoring some degree of responsibility to our federal govt, I see the inner rot of state govts eating away this nations future.
