USDA Rural Business Development Grant Will Upgrade Sherrill’s Technology, Increasing Productivity And Production
Schumer: This Funding Will Help Sherrill Cut Up The Competition
U.S. Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer today announced, $88,500 in federal funding for Sherrill Manufacturing Inc. The funding was allocated through the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Business Development Grant program. The grant will assist Sherrill Manufacturing Inc.’s plans for growth in its flatware manufacturing operations. Senator Schumer urged USDA officials to award the funding to Sherrill back in May.
“This grant will help Sherrill Manufacturing maintain its presence as America's only flatware-maker and continue its contribution to Central New York's economy” said Senator Schumer. “I am pleased that Sherrill, the last flatware company in the country, will be receiving these critical funds to expand its operations. I will continue to work hand-in-hand with the company so that their 'Made In The USA' products are used all over the country.”
Mohawk Valley EDGE will administer the award, which will greatly assist Sherrill Inc.’s plans for growth in its flatware manufacturing operations. As part of its investment, Sherrill will be rebuilding one of its 700-ton forge presses, and purchasing a vintage set of knife grinding machines that have been rebuilt and upgraded with modern capabilities. Furthermore, this funding will provide the company with the necessary savings needed to fund production and prepare for long-term capital needs, as well as provide a cost-effective manner for the company to upgrade from outdated technology. Schumer said these technology upgrades will lead to increased productivity and efficiency, which will provide increased revenue and additional local employment.
Sherrill Manufacturing, Inc., located in Sherrill, NY, is the only flatware manufacturer in the United States, and has built significant sales on its ‘Made in USA’ branding, quality manufacturing and internet sales based business model. The company began as an attempt to resurrect flatware manufacturing in Sherrill when Oneida Ltd, the facility’s former owner, left Central New York for Mexico and the Far East.
Schumer has always been a strong advocate for Central New York’s manufacturing industry, including companies like Sherrill Manufacturing. Most recently, he sent a letter to the White House Chief Usher urging them to purchase American made flatware from Sherrill Manufacturing. Additionally, Schumer successfully pushed the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to remove nearly a dozen companies falsely touting that their products were “USA-made” on government websites. Schumer said this was not only misleading to agencies and other customers looking to buy from companies producing American-made goods, but it threatened to put companies like Sherrill at a competitive disadvantage.
No kidding...even for Chuckie Schumer, a chronic underachiever if ever there was one, a paltry $88K in pork represents a pretty weeny effort.

It didn’t help when that fool Cuomo said Conservatives weren’t welcome or needed; he’s been trying to un-say that for months now.
Senator Schumer has once again shown himself to be a great example why the ill-conceived 17th Amendment should never have been ratified, state lawmakers foolishly giving up the voices of the state legislatures in Congress when they ratified that amendment, effectively repealing the whole Constitution by doing so imo.
In fact, here's a previous example of Schumer buying votes by winning unconstitutonal federal funding for a NY library.

What constitutionally low-information Sen. Schumer is wrongly ignoring by winning federal funding for his projects is that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the feds the specific power to tax and spend for such things.
Consider that previous generations of state sovereignty-respecting Supreme Court Justices had clarified that Congress cannot appropriate taxes for anything that it cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers, grants for businesses and INTRAstate libraries not listed among those powers.
“Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
”From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added].” —United States v. Butler, 1936.
Also, note that by having non-elected bureaucrats, those running the USDA in this case, provide funding on his behalf, Schumer is protecting his voting record. And protecting his voting record will make it easier for Schumer to fool low-information voters, voters who probably do not understand the fed’s limited power to tax and spend, to reelect Schumer.
But it remains that such “federal” funding is arguably state revenues stolen by means of unconstitutional federal taxes.
Drain the swamp! Drain the swamp!

Since Pres. Trump entered the ’16 presidential race too late for patriots to make sure that there were state sovereignty-respecting candidates on the primary ballots, patriots need make sure that such candidates are on the ’18 primary ballots so that they can be elected to support Trump in draining the unconstitutionally big federal government swamp.
Such a Congress will also be able to finish draining the swamp with respect to getting the remaining state sovereignty-ignoring, activist Supreme Court justices off of the bench.
Noting that the primaries start in Iowa and New Hampshire in February ‘18, patriots need to challenge candidates for federal office in the following way.
While I Googled the primary information above concerning Iowa and New Hampshire, FReeper iowamark brought to my attention that the February primaries for these states apply only to presidential election years. And after doing some more scratching, since primary dates for most states for 2018 elections probably haven’t been uploaded at this time (March 14, 2017), FReepers will need to find out primary dates from sources and / or websites in their own states.
Patriots need to qualify candidates by asking them why the Founding States made the Constitution’s Section 8 of Article I; to limit (cripple) the federal government’s powers.
Patriots also need to find candidates that are knowledgeable of the Supreme Court's clarifications of the federal government’s limited powers listed above.

No one should be fooled, the rats have killed manufacturing in NYS and it only exists on a pay to play basis. The federal funds are used in desperation to hold the roof up that they are sitting on. The political competition? there is none! The feckless GOP follow like little hungry children waiting for crumbs
