Being called a hobbit.
McCain continued reading the article: "The idea seems to be that if the House GOP refuses to raise the debt ceiling, a default crisis or gradual government shutdown will ensue and the public will turn en masse against Barack Obama....Then Democrats would have no choice but to pass a balanced budget amendment and reform entitlements, and the tea party hobbits could return to Middle-earth...This is the kind of crack political thinking that turned Sharron Angle and Christine O'Donnell into GOP nominees. The reality is the debt limit will be raised one way or another."
Gee, all I want the USA to do control its spending like a normal business or person has to.
That made me a Hobbit?
I’m not a crazy Middle Earth fan and haven’t seen any of the movies, but I read the books years ago. I don’t mind being called a “hobbit”.
Hobbits were the ones that wanted to mind their own business, grow crops, and enjoy friends and family. They only got involved because others brought them into the bigger problems, and they mainly tried to keep others minding their own business. They also won through courage, hard work, friendship, and loyalty to others on the side of good. Hobbits are the exact opposite of democrats (who have an insatiable lust for power and control over others and are hard to distinguish from Saruman or Sauron).
