Agree 100%. And I would add Taiwan, Viet Nam, Philippines, and ROK; together they could establish allied hegemony over the western Pacific. Trump is the man, along with Tillerson and Mattis, who could pull it off.

It’s a pity that the potential timing for this doesn’t align with Australia’s Future Frigate program. A joint US/Aus/Jp program would have been a great idea. Each country brings considerable technology and experience to the table.
