>>I’m sure he will be gone in 6 months

Not if he gets the same gold treatment Carter got, you know, the special treatment given to the uber-elite who, for some unknown reason, somehow manage to live well into their 90’s.

Juan McLame will stay to the very bitter end. His ego has a hold of his brain housing group and it is telling him to run again.

Juan was a very good man a long time ago. His quest for power is what has him in the condition he is in right now. He would rather die holding on to his seat, rather than give America a break. IMHO

McCain needs to resign now. Maybe special election can be held this November ... awaiting AZ law details.
Flake is up next year.

Also, McCain must step down immediately for the good of the nation.

Sorry to hear, especially since my 84 year old Mom just last week was told her Uterine cancer though caught in time has spread to her liver/lung. Now my 88 year old Father in all likelihood has lung cancer (never smoked a day in his life)

I'm sorry for your sad news, DAC21. There's nothing fair about cancer. May God bless and comfort you and them.

Classy statement, Jim.

I served under McCain, I despise his politics, but I appreciate his family’s service. His dad was a good man, by all accounts, and his grandfather dutifully took a torpedo for Halsey.

I am with others here who have said as much...I detest his politics, but don’t wish that on anyone.

I hope he leaves public life and can make peace with his maker.

"This can progress to unconsciousness."

He's been unconscious for 30 years or more.

From Wikipedia:

Despite maximum treatment, the cancer usually recurs. The most common length of survival following diagnosis is 12 to 15 months with less than 3% to 5% of people surviving longer than five years. Without treatment survival is typically 3 months.[

Sorry, but I, for one won’t give him an inch. He more than negated his service to this country by being a total asshole as a Republican Senator, from a CONSERVATIVE STATE where acting that way simply was not needed to get elected.

I have MUCH MORE RESPECT for Olympia Snowe (and Susan Collins) from Maine, who have to answer to a populace inclined to vote Democrat, in most cases. I also have MUCH MORE RESPECT for Barbara Boxer and Nancy Pelosi, as they are only carrying out what their voters expect. I have never, and would never, use the language here against Barbara or Nancy - they don’t hide who they are or what they want for this country...so they earn respect (from me, at least) as human beings.

McCain had NO REASON to be such a dick...he could have been reasonably conservative (like Kay Bailey Huchison, for example) and stuck with the party when we needed him...but no, he was a total a-hole (trying to keep it clean here) - even to the point of threatening to run against President Bush in 2004. If he wanted sympathy from this FReeper, he won’t get it, not at all.

You can confirm my older posts that I oppose the majority of the Senator’s positions and behavior. I started a certain website because of him. However, I ask my God to forgive the man, and to spare his life.

I hear ya, man. I tried to comment but deleted my effort twice. What can I “appropriately” say? I’m still thinking, lol.

I compromised between what I wanted to say, and what I should say.

Sorry for your loss. My mother was diagnosed with cancer in the kidney the end of March. As she was 95, we didn’t put her through anything. We kept her at home until she fell and lived another week. Three months.

Carter had secondary brain lesion from primary melanoma. Also lesions on his pancreas. He recrived immunotherapy in the formnof a drug combo of Yervoy and Keytruda. Went into remission almost immediately. My wife had the exact manifestations as Carter but six months earlier so Keytruda was not yet available for her. The Yervoy alone was not effective and the melanoma took her.
