I think Trump may be wrong on this one. If I had been heading the FBI and I had a dossier in my hands which may have included material which could be used to embarrass or even blackmail the President of the United States, then I would consider it my duty to inform the President of its existence. It is never a good idea to allow your boss to be blind-sided.
If Comey had NOT divulged its existence to President Trump, then Trump could be just as easily tweeting that Comey HID this potentially damaging material from him.
So the fact that Comey divulged it, does not, in my opinion, indict him. We have to assume that President Trump has made this charge based on additional actions by Comey which have demonstrated a caginess on Comey’s part.
You mean the same FBI Director who leaked personal memos (that nobody has seen by the way) containing classified/sensitive information so as to provoke the appointment of a special counsel, which they did. You mean that FBI Director.
Perhaps you are correct regarding Comey’s motives regarding the Dossier but only if that was viewed in a vacuum. When you put together the entire picture, it does not bode well for Comey.
We knew of the dossier and it’s history, and it was widely discredited, before he was elected. If we did, you know Trump did and for Comey to bring it up after Trump was inaugurated, then you draw the implications. Now do you think he is still wrong? I think not.
Comey hiding the dossier wouldn’t be blackmail.
I agree with Trump. Comey was part often stop Trump team and failed. He failed because Trump knew the dossier was full of crap.
If Comey informed Trump about the dossier but didn’t give him the details of the U.S. political figures involved in procuring it, then he wasn’t being forthcoming. The timing of these breaking news stories is amazing. It almost seems like Trump got his revenge on McCain by giving him brain cancer.
Why was that dossier leaked and who leaked it? perhaps Comey did.
