Scaramucci’s calls for tougher gun laws vanish from Twitter
NY Post ^ | 7/21/17 | Yaron Steinbuch

Newly appointed White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci has posted his support for stringent gun-control laws – a position that would be at odds with President Trump’s views.

“I have always been for strong gun control laws,” Scaramucci tweeted after the December 2012 shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., in which 20 kids were gunned down.

In August 2012, he tweeted: “We (the USA) has 5% of the world’s population but 50% of the world’s guns. Enough is enough. It is just common sense it apply more controls.”

My sense of President Trump is that he operates like Muhammad Ali weaving in and out, getting in punches, protecting himself from punches in the ring, so to speak.

Ali would fight back at the slightest criticism from media as well, getting angry with them hoping to calm them down.

Heck, the POTUS spoke to the “New York Times” this week, so he isn’t always going to dump them and shun them.

I don’t care how President Trump of his aides dance around with the media, as long as right decisions are made.

Mark Levin was on my radio a bit this evening and he mentioned a report that Trump is researching his pardon powers.

He could start by pardoning the Oregon ranchers whose five year jailing as terrorists for lighting a backfire to protect their land triggered the Oregon Standoff protest last year. Freedom for Dwight and Steven Hammond would be a good things.

The 19 prisoners being held indefinitely with most not even tried and convicted in Nevada over the April 2014 standoff near Bundy Ranch should also be pardoned.

Roger Stone called for this in a speech in Las Vegas last Saturday.

“Maybe he changed his mind? Have you ever changed your mind about anything? People are allowed to do that”.

Maybe he conveniently changed his mind to get the job.

Where did Trump find this guy?

President Trump did not hire the guy to address the issues that disturb Conservatives. He is in charge of communications and if he is the team player he says he is he will be pitching the President's agenda. I believe the President wants him because he sees Scaramucci as aggressive or more so than Spicer and much more polished thus effective in his delivery.

Occams Razor would suggest that this is who Trump is. Apart from his hostility towards the regulatory state (and that is a HUGE benefit) he is basically a New Yawk lib as anyone who paid the least bit of attention knew. His myrmidons might think he is controlling his staff picks, but a more realistic conclusion is that they reflect his attitudes. We were told by these supporters that he was a genius at “picking the best people.” I’m not seeing it.
Even Gorsuch, while showing the promise of being outstanding, was a pick that any GOP Prez could have made. I hate to say it but much of the credit for him goes to The Turtle.

Who cares what his views on the issues are? It’s not his job to form policy. I don’t care how my plumber feels about current events as long as the toilet doesn’t back up.

I watched his press conference and he was great. I wish he were the Press Secretary, although Sarah Huckabee Sanders did okay. Whenever someone asked Scaramouche a question he didn’t want to answer, he said he didn’t want to answer it and moved on. I wondered: Why don’t they all do that?

I have to agree. Most of Trump’s picks for staff and cabinet positions have really sucked.

I do think Trump is going to move more to the right as time goes on however. Just a gut feeling.

I’ve not been too enthusiastic about some of his staff picks.

As a DC outsider he turned to old Washington hands within the GOP for guidance, advice and recommendations and he has been shafted by them at almost every turn.

The assistance they have rendered has not been to help President Trump implement his agenda.

It has been to push him in the direction that the GOPe wants him to go.

As long as we’re speculating - maybe he changed his mind the day after that tweet.

Read post 20. I’ll believe Don Jr.

We have to remember that people involved in politics are usually opportunists. I think Scaramucci is an opportunist. He worked for Obama and Romney so he is flexible.

Yeah, a few years ago, he called Trump a “hack!” I guess time will tell.

He talked about that at the press briefing. Watch it, it’s linked in post 31.

If he was so horrible Don Jr wouldn’t be 100 behind him, check post 20.
