A great number of psychiatrists/psychologists likely went into those fields because of anxiety over their own mental problems. One clue was back in the 70s when the APA voted to remove homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses. Who other than the crazy (or the amoral, who will stick anything anywhere if it might feel good) would choose perversion?
I have a friend who has a PhD in Developmental Psychology. She said the designation was changed to ‘a variation on normal’ in the 70’s. I asked her what was ‘normal’ about homosexuality. She couldn’t answer. I told her that the anus was not designed to accept an erect penis. It tears, unlike the vagina, which was designed to withstand ‘stress’. No answer again. The Psychiatric/psychological community was the first to crumble in the face of political correctness. That has been a detriment to the collective mental well-being of our populace.
