The liberal Jesus hating sports talk radio hosts and reporters dont want him to have the chance. They are like the news media when Donald Trump was about to enter the race - all negative and proven wrong by Trump at every step. Tebow is proving the sports media wrong at every step.

But, if it were Michael Sam they’d be salivating...
That pic says it all.
Tim gives something too many athletes don’t. Effort!
'History!' Kaepernick wrote on Instagram Oct. 15 [2015], when he marked 50 years since the Black Panther Party was founded.
Kaepernick has posted 170 photos or videos on his Instagram account in the four years since he created it. Most of his first 128 posts were pics of him in football gear, publicity photos or shots taken with friends.
But 31 of his last 42 posts have strong social justice connotations, often featuring quotes from radical Nation of Islam leader Malcolm X, Black Panthers founder Huey Newton and cop killer Assata Shakur. [aka, JoAnne Chesimard]
During a Sunday news conference about the flag flap, Kaepernick dressed in a black hat with a large, white X and a T-shirt that featured photos of Cuban despot Fidel Castro and Malcolm X.

Here's a little insight into the communist terrorist group this a-hole admires so much.
From the Maoist Internationist Movement:
[1960s/original] Black Panther Party [BPP] Archives
From the article: REVOLUTIONARY HEROES
"On May 1st, May Day [1969], the day of the gigantic Free Huey rally, two of Alioto's top executioners vamped on the brothers from the Brown Community who were attending to their own affairs. These brothers, who are endowed with the revolutionary spirit of the Black Panther Party defended themselves from the racist pig gestapo [the police].
Pig Joseph Brodnik received his just reward with a big hole in the chest. Pig Paul McGoran got his in the mouth which was not quite enough to off him.
The revolutionary brothers escaped the huge swarm of pigs with dogs, mace, tanks and helicopters, proving once again that "the spirit of the people is greater than the man's technology."
To these brothers the revolutionary people of racist America want to say, by your revolutionary deed you are heroes, and that you are always welcome to our camp."

Tim Tebow will never win the ESPN "Courage Award" - that's reserved for the likes of Bruce Jenner and Michael Sam.
Even an old pitcher making a MLB debut makes for a good movie.
I think it’s a wonderful journey and a great story for Tebow. Definitely not the easy road to take.
I saw that same thread also.
A tip of the hat should go to the player who thought to grab a towel as the celebration erupts, apparently knowing Tebow was about to be doused with Gatorade!
Tebow is highly unlikely to be the next Reggie Jackson, or even a Jack Clark (my brother used to just love that guy’s line drive home runs), but, this WAS a moment of fun!
And yet you don’t get .400 hitters at Single-A. He is probably just as far away from the MLB as any other high-A prospect, maybe slightly faster due to his maturity and general experience. If the Meta try to promote him this year or next, it is for the $$. If they are serious at the earliest it would be mid-season next year, if he is raking at AA/AAA. More likely 2019.
Actually, given that it was a 'GOPe' sage that spread the 4Chan 'fake' dirt on Trump to all layers of the political spectrum, I could not discount the possibility the GOPe would demonstrate they are as dirty as the DNC... And that Ted Cruz convention speech.. supposed leader of the holier than thou conservatives..
South Carolina primary is when I figured out Trump could win the nomination IF the 'fake' conservatives could not Megan Kelly him.
It was in February 2016 Obama declared that Trump would never be president.. so given the propensity of the lying left to cheat, I will say that I was 'surprised' the way election night unfolded.
What my comment regarding an earlier thread, where some Freepers already wrote Tim's demise, has to do with the reality of politics is beyond me.
No, no, no!
You got it all wrong and must have missed the article about the Mets and Yankees trade talks. Tim Tebow is such a great player, that the Yankees are attempting to strike a deal that would send Arron Judge to the Mets for Tim Tebow.
Or maybe that’s just a trade rumor I made-up to bait the Tebow Fanboys.
Football players have crossed over to baseball in the past.
Bo Jackson was an All-Star baseball player and is the only NFL running back in history with two runs of 90 yards or more.
Deion Sanders was the first guy to hit a major league home run and score an NFL touchdown in the same weekend.
OPS? I've heard of On Base Percentage but not of this term.
Only one correction. One took a knee and the other stayed on his butt.
I was referring to Kapernick’s taking a knee during National Anthems.
Okay.
on-base percentage + slugging = OPS: Good eye for the strike zone plus ability to hit the ball hard.
OPS is almost meaningless for less than 100 ABs.
Old timers used to say it took 1000-1500 plate appearances to really evaluate a hitter, presuming he has some talent to start with. A review of MLB players does tend to indicate lasting power develops at that level of experience.
That’s why it’s critical for Tebow to play everyday, anywhere, any time. He needs those PAs to develop. At 30 now, he likely needs quick development and can’t put in the three or four or more years it might normally take.
Michael Jordan is more like Tim Tebow in that he did not make it to The Show. Or at least has not yet made it.
Dave DeBusschere was an NBA star for the Pistons who pitched in 36 MLB games for the White Sox.
Gene Conley, who died three weeks ago, pitched 11 years in MLB (91-96) and pitched for the Milwaukee Braves in the 1957 World Series, and won three NBA championships with the Boston Celtics.
