A California deputy attorney general has been charged in San Diego with possession of child pornography.

Raymond Joseph Liddy, 53, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday, was released on $100,000 bond and placed on house arrest with GPS monitoring.

An investigation into Liddy was launched after an electronic service provider sent a tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in January that a user had uploaded an image that appeared to be child porn.

I looked at his picture. He sure looks a lot like G. Gordon Liddy. IIRC, years ago G. Gordon Liddy talked about his son in the Marine Corps. Raymond Liddy is a retired U.S.M. C. reserves officer. Could be a set up. We will see.

That's in the article. He is the son of former FBI agent and lawyer G. Gordon Liddy, CBS 8 reported.

Maybe Fake News. It is a CBS affiliate....

“Wearing makeup. Uh huh, gaydar going off very loud.”

Agree - something tells me that he did a lot more than watch a couple of teens getting it on.

Hopefully that ‘lifestyle’ will end for him, and especially his victims.

This was not a download, he is accused of an upload, big difference and much easier to prosecute. But, I can not in my mind believe that the son of Gordon Liddy would be so stupid to do something like that. Maybe someone else on his computer, who knows for sure.

Set up?

Do ISPs normally flag people who download porn to the FBI? Should he have known it was child porn?

Probably he should have; he saved it to a thumb drive. It’s not like he said, “whoa! She looks too young!”

If the ISP doesn’t NORMALLY do that, however, it might be worth looking into why they SELECTIVELY did that. But that wouldn’t change his guilt... it’d simply be interesting to establish that an ISP KNOWINGLY transmits child porn to people. (They’re usually not guilty because they claim they’re passive conduits.)

Actually, here’s a weird thought:

This guy’s a VERY RARE Republican prosecutor. Could the ISP even have tipped someone off because they wanted rid of him because they DO routinely transmit child porn?

Never mind... I didn’t see that it was an upload. That pretty much clears all the ISP conspiracies.

Gordon Liddy’s son is a Democrat?

From a book he wrote and was pushing he believes his mother was killed in a plane crash - the crash, he believes was an assassination by Nixon

His mother died in 2010, I doubt Nixon had anything to do with that.
