My mother posted an article about Muslim refugees being caught for fraud in the US, and I posted a comment regarding my desire not to have more Syrian refugees. Sadly my mother pulled the post down after my sister’s boyfriend went all nasty on us. He was totally intolerant of our viewpoint. I didn’t get to read it but according to my mother he called us “racists” and “bigots” and said we should be hauled in by police for a hate crime…and more to that flavor, also noting it was fake news.
I would gladly had a decent rational conversation with him about whether or not it was fake news, but no, he had to go all snuggle puss on us. My wife told me to drop it saying “You always knew he was a bleeding heart asshole”.
So I won’t respond to him, but don’t look forward to having him at family gatherings. If he hadn’t acted like a self-righteous dick it might be different for me. My mom wants nothing to do with him.
