I liked his Alan Shepard.
ALS is not a good way to go.
he was a good actor-
He was Chuck Yeager in, “The Right Stuff,” and BG Garrison in, “Blackhawk Down.” Great actor.
I had a cousin die of ALS and it is heartbreaking :(
Chuck Yeager
You are right...my bad.
Once I saw the photo, I realized I had him wrong.
He was great in The Right Stuff. ALS is a terrible disease — I watched a good friend die of ALS — it was death by inches — horrible.
Just don’t ever do it again...:)
Rest in Peace, that is a horrible disease.
I'm grateful to be 73.5 and in good health.
He did not age well.

He played Chuck Yeager in the movie The Right Stuff.
Saw “The Tooth of the Crime” one of his plays in NY around 1982, it was really excellent and fun. I think he’s less well known for his writing, but from what I’ve seen he shouldn’t be.
If he was a conservative the libs will be jumping with glee.
RIP, Sam. He was good as a foil to the hyper Diane Keaton in “Baby Boom.”
Played a supporting role in a very underrated movie ... “Mud” with Matthew McConaughey.
I always felt like Sam Shephard should have played Alan Shephard and Scott Glenn should have played John Glenn.
“Played a supporting role in a very underrated movie ... Mud with Matthew McConaughey.”
That was a great movie.
my husbands cousin has Als but she still lives almost 10 yrs out...she can barely talk, has a PEG tube, suprapubic cath and confined to a wheelchair, but her mind is sound and she can use the compute thru eye movement...
I never understood why it didn’t get more positive critical acclaim. It was one of those movies where everyone seemed to be cast perfectly for their roles — even the two kids.
