Jerusalem Post columnist Caroline Glick wrote Wednesday evening that National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster is purging pro-Israel staff from the National Security Council (NSC), turning the administration against President Donald Trumps policies.
In a Facebook post, Glick noted that all of these people whom McMaster has fired this week Rich Higgins, Derek Harvey, and Ezra Cohen-Watnick are pro-Israel and oppose the Iran nuclear deal, positions that Trump holds.
She noted that the firings were the latest evidence that NSA McMaster is deeply hostile to Israel and to Trump:
According to senior officials aware of his behavior, he constantly refers to Israel as the occupying power and insists falsely and constantly that a country named Palestine existed where Israel is located until 1948 when it was destroyed by the Jews.
Many of you will remember that a few days before Trumps visit to Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu בנימין נתניהו and his advisers were blindsided when the Americans suddenly told them that no Israeli official was allowed to accompany Trump to the Western Wall.
What hasnt been reported: it was McMaster who pressured Trump to agree not to let Netanyahu accompany him to the Western Wall. At the time, I and other reporters were led to believe that this was the decision of rogue anti-Israel officers at the US consulate in Jerusalem. But it wasnt. It was McMaster.
And even that, it works out wasnt sufficient for McMaster. He pressured Trump to cancel his visit to the Wall and only visit the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial ala the Islamists who insist that the only reason Israel exists is European guilt over the Holocaust.
Glick noted that the three latest firings were not McMasters first attack on pro-Israel officials, or those critical of radical Islam.

Report: H.R. McMaster Increasingly Volatile and Frequently Blows His Top🎵 Under pressure 🎵 https://t.co/uQ8CUQzM1b— Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) August 4, 2017
During my Army career, we used to call that sort of leadership style a “screamer.” I had a Brigade Commander like that, he only got after me once on a tirade but it seemed to me and the other officer in the room that the Colonel was unhinged. The colonel however went on to make three stars.
McMaster must have Trump hypnotized.
Thanks for the info.
And thank you for your service in the United States Army.
Even more for Trump as he is going against the establishment elites (of both parties) who don't want to give up their perk$ from corruption.
Pulling the plug on the swamp is tricky because when the draining hole is open more Gollum types come up from the bottomless pit of the sewer which is politics in this day and age.
It's our job to continue to expose the anti-American activities by the press and their puppets the dems and eGOP.
Doesn’t cut it. McMaster seems even more unhinged than Scaramucci.
My pleasure!

I'll just repeat my comment from the related thread, Follow Up: Israeli Government Officials Stand Up For HR McMaster
I doubt McMaster is anti Israel, certainly not anti semitic, but clearly pro Palestinian and supportive of the Obama Iran deal. Presumably these positions fit with the President's views. He was the one who made the decision. Like the Embassy move. Can't blame his advisors. As to the headline, I consider it bogus. No Israeli officials are quoted. Other than an anonymous statement to Ha'aertz. For those not familiar with Ha'aertz, it's a paper far to the left of the New York Times or the Washington Post. If you are on board with anonymous leaks to the NYT or WP, then you should be on board with Ha'aertz. And should ignore radical Zionists like Caroline Glick.
My personal opinion, no question McMaster is a patriot, probably left wing politically. But if he's the President's man, that's that. At the end of the day the decisions don't belong to McMaster.
After McMaster is fired, I expect Trump to re-hire all those whom he fired, and fire all those whom he hired or promoted. And it’s not just about Israel, either, although that’s worth mentioning, too.
