What drove a conclusion like that?
“Bye bye Senate.”
That could happen, but not by reason of Flake loosing his seat. I just spoke to a friend in Paradise Valley, AZ, who says that both Flake and McLame are going to be replaced by more conservative Republicans. His feeling is that unless there’s a medical miracle for McLame, he will be resigning and Governor Ducey will be appointing his replacement. And it would be better for Flake to loose his primary than step aside and have the prospect of the GOPe in AZ “select” his replacement.
There are eight GOP Senators up for re-election. Hatch (UT) will win if he runs, and if he doesn’t the seat will still be GOP. The only other one that might have a problem is Heller (NV). He, like Flake and Hatch is a Mormon, and the Mormons are a strong voting bloc in AZ,NV and UT. Wicker, Corker, Fischer and Barrasso shouldn’t have a problem being re-elected. On the RAT side, you have 27 up. I count ten of that number who are vulnerable. Just the odds of 8 vs 27 should be good news for the Republicans, but 2020 and 2022 are just the reverse, so they had better start doing their jobs.
I asked as nice as I couldAlways liked Adrian Belews impression of Bob Dylan on that tune. Harmonica and all.
If my job would
Somehow be finished by Friday
Well, them whole damn weekend came n went, Frankie
(Wanna buy some mandies, Bob?)
You know what? They didnt do nothin
But they charged me double for Sunday!
You know, no matter what you do
They gonna cheat n rob you
Then theyll send you a bill thatll get your senses reelin
And if you do not pay
They got computer collectors
Thatll get you so crazy till your headll go through the ceilin!
Yes it will!
Flake, Corker, Hatch and Heller all voted for Rubio’s amnesty and all need to be Cantorized in 2018 or they will do it again.
Franklin Roosevelts rapid conversion from Constitutionalism to the doctrine of unlimited government is an oft-told story. But I am here concerned not so much by the abandonment of states rights by the national Democratic Party an event that occurred some years ago when that party was captured by the socialist ideologues in and about the labor movement as by the unmistakable tendency of the Republican Party to adopt the same course. [ ] Thus, the cornerstone of the Republic, our chief bulwark against the encroachment (on) individual freedom by Big Government, is fast disappearing under the piling sands of absolutism. Now that is a serious indictment of people like Flake. And of course McCain, the recent savior of Zerocare.
The Republican Party, to be sure, gives lip service to states rights. We often talk about returning to the states their rightful powers; the Administration has even gone so far as to sponsor a federal-state conference on the problem. But deeds are what count, and I regret to say that in actual practice, the Republican Party, like the Democratic Party, summons the coercive power of the federal government whenever national leaders conclude that the states are not performing satisfactorily.
From pages 24-25
The book that changed my life.
Jeff Flake’s father was a senator. Jeff’s birth town was named in part for his great-great grandfather Mormon pioneer William J. Flake. The name of the town was (wait for it..) Snowflake, Arizona. I suppose all dynasties must end at sometime.
Someone should ask Jeb! if he has an opinion on that subject.
[I]t is very clear that in fundamental theory, socialism and democracy are almost, if not quite, one and the same. They both rest at bottom upon the absolute right of the community to determine its own destiny and that of its members. Men as communities are supreme over men as individuals. Therefore, to go further, the two aforementioned amendments, which put progressive taxation in the hands of the federal government (Plank #2 of communism) and removed the Senate from the states (their voice in DC) thus instituted socialism in the Constitution.

GOP will not lose Senate in 2018. I predict they will pick up two seats.
The other person that Snowflake AZ was named for was Erastus Snow.
This joke that writes itself has only sardonic humor in it, though.
McCain retires and Kelly Ward replaces him
then we get McSally, DeWitt, Franks or Ducey to knock off Flake. Any of whom would win.
I still believe Ward would lose head to head against the Democrat candidate (Stanton?)
I sure as shiite hope not, Ayotte was “defeated” by a communist who was the deciding vote to keep Osamacare.
I’d prefer “the way of Bob Bennett”.
Did Zappa really write that?! Wow. And years ago, as he’s been gone a while.
Gee, California...she ain’t goin’ nowhere, man.
Strange. He’s on TV so much I thought he was the most popular Republican in the country...

From your lips to God’s ears. I sure hope so.
Martha McSally is a member or the Tuesday Group. She has been a complete and utter disappointment.
I hope the Arizona primary candidates are smart enough to not divide the vote to allow Flake to sneak through.
