Deputy Attorney General: Special counsel Mueller needs permission to expand Russia investigation

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said on Sunday that the special counsel investigating Russia's interference in the 2016 election needs permission from the Department of Justice to expand his investigation if he finds evidence of an unrelated crime.

In an interview with Fox News Sunday, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation of Russia's role in the 2016 campaign and President Donald Trump's campaign's potential ties to Russia was "not a fishing expedition."

"If he finds evidence of a crime that is within the scope of what Director Mueller and I have agreed is the appropriate scope of this investigation, then he can," Rosenstein said. "If it's something outside that scope he needs to come to the acting attorney general, at this time me, for permission to expand his investigation."

Everything I've seen tells me: (1) Rosenstein is playing this straight as an arrow, and (2) we may be in for a big surprise (in a good way) when the whole thing is done.

Everything I've seen, from his background as one of those Bush republicans who fit in well with Obama's administration, like Mueller did, and then with an unlawful and unnecessary appointment of Mueller, and then with absolutely no effort to reform the DOJ from the legal arm of the SJW movement, tells me he is part of the combined Democrat/GOPe plan to remove Trump from office. When told to create a memo about Comey, he did, and then when Trump fired Comey, he hired Mueller. WTF? He's a swamp creature through and through, not a straight arrow.

We looks so hard at Hillary Clinton but we couldn’t find anything! On the other hand Trump didn’t pay tax on some double bubble in 1965. We’re going to impeach him for it!

Oh you know. Evidence that Trump recognized his gender as a child.

Whatever works. Or they can just make some stuff up.

At this point AG Sessions should step in and say NO! You finish the Russian collusion investigation with no further investigation then if nothing is found that investigation if done and over with.

Then AG Session is back in the loop and then he and only he can decide if further action or investigation is warranted. This is not for some government twit to decide. AG Sessions is the Appointed AG not the twit in charge right now.

Bottom line is they will concoct something to hang Trump with.

And if this doesn't work they will find something else.

You may rest assured that they have already ranged far and wide, searching for something they can hype and massage to make it resemble a crime. You don’t need a dozen and a half overpaid democRAT hatchet men to follow the yellow brick road.

Mueller should be forwarding his weekly expenditures to Trump for approval.

Plus making them public would be a real eyeopener.

Can someone explain to me how there can be an investigation when the crime isn’t even mentioned? Just what is he investigating anyway? Can Mueller please mention to the country what criminal statute was violated? This is like a detective in any city investigating someone and when asked what for, the detective says “I am investigating this person for collusion with the Russians” and then he is asked “Collusion to do what?” “Um, um, just colluding”.

Just WHAT the hell is this? This is absolutely insane. Colluding to hack the election? But the election wasn’t hacked! Even Obama said it is impossible to hack a POTUS election, so what the hell is this guy investigating? The US is constantly hacked from all corners of the world, what the hell does a real estate developer have to do with that? Think about it: Trump last year was Joe Q. Citizen, he was running for President, he had zero connections to Washington, Obama and his mafia were running everything so why isn’t OBAMA investigated being that HE was responsible for national security and keeping our elections legit?

The fact is the career felon who is above the law Hillary Clinton LOST the election because she spent her whole campaign sitting on her fat cankle supported ASS while Trump was out there every-single-day busting his and they are trying to push this BS that he won because he “colluded with the Russians?” To do WHAT? Use their magical satellites that beam brain rays into peoples head forcing them to vote for Trump? And this Republican party in Washington can absolutely BITE me with their snowflake BS. None of them are fighting back against this hoax.

Everything they say is fantasy. Thus any fantasy being you wish to create and say has visited you is just as much truth as what they are saying.

My domesticated Unicorns say “YES”!

(Too bad we don’t live by a major trout stream. But I suppose “rainbow” trout could be almost anywhere.)

Great evidence to support your assertion.

Trump should fire Rosenstein and name Jeanine Pirro as the new Deputy AG. There will be no nonsense or games with her.

Bottom line is they will concoct something to hang Trump with.

That is the purpose and scope of the "investigation." That's why they can't publicly say what it is.

“They may well be looking into the Russian influence and the Dems”

That would be outside the scope of his jurisdiction. His jurisdiction is to look only at links or coordination between Trump people and Russia.

The legal team consists of hard-core Democrats. If they try to take jurisdiction of any Hillary or DNC investigation, it would be to whitewash it and cover it up, like the Lynch Justice Department did with Hillary’s emails.

With the Justice Department packed with leftwing lawyers (except for a few at the very top) and the Special Counsel’s office packed with leftwing lawyers, the only way Hillary or the DNC would be investigated honestly and not as a whitewash is if there is a new Special Counsel who is not GOPe/Dem.

IMO, Rubenstein is owned by Deep State. They have something on him and use him at their will. His statement is therefore meaningless.
