The recently confirmed secretary of the Navy says he will follow any order the president gives on transgender troops, but that “any patriot” should be allowed to serve.
“We will process and take direction of a policy that is developed by the [Defense] secretary [with] direction from the president and march out smartly,” Navy Secretary Richard V. Spencer told reporters Thursday night after visiting Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia.
"On a fundamental basis, any patriot that wants to serve and meets all the requirements should be able to serve in our military"
Spencer was confirmed a week after President Trump tweeted that he plans to ban transgender people from serving in the military.

I agree with you. The SecNav is correct. The current policy regarding transgender service personal stands until President Trump gives an order to SecDoD changing that policy. Tweets don’t count.

The first and foremost requirement is a sound mind in a sound body. Transgenders meet neither of these requirements.
If I had made such a comment to my staff when I was in the military, I would have to special order my pants....my posterior would have been chewed off, at the very least!
The troops don’t want trans. It’s bad for morale.

About 50 years ago when I was ordered to Fort Knox for BCT my friends and family,perhaps half jokingly,advised me not to drop the soap in the shower.I must admit that when I first arrived I was a tiny bit scared regarding that advice but I very quickly realized that there wasn't a problem.Never had such a problem...never heard of anyone else having one.But that was back when pervs used their perversions to stay *out* of the military.
Having pervs and freaks alongside of you would be a major downer....for me at least.

And then there is the infamous Tail Hook convention where a couple of female sailors got slapped on the ass in the same traditional way ball players do. Many a highly trained Aviators were grounded or kick out of the Navy. That was Rep. Schroeder's big cause.
If women don't want to play by the same rules and traditions as the men, they should stick to admin duties ashore.
