The news announcer on local radio this morning talked about the ongoing ‘führer’ over the actions of ‘neo-Nazi Trump supporters’ in Charlottesville, and yes, she did indeed pronounce ‘furor’ as ‘führer’, as if that’s actually edgy and/or clever.
Likewise, the way the means of referring to the president have evolved on most social media since the election. First, he was ‘tRUMP’, and then ‘Quockerwodger’, and now, since the Trump-Supporter = Neo-Nazi/KKK association is firmly in place, and constantly refreshed by the media, he is being referred to as ‘Der Trumpenführer’.
I put that right up there with the ‘clever’ typos that appear every year, talking about the ‘thongs of revellers’ at the various Pride-Day celebrations. It’s not clever or funny, it’s just tiresome and puerile.
A little Beach Boys message board I used to visit started calling him Voldermort.
I dont go there much anymore the place is overrun with liberals and their politics and moderation is non-existant.
