That is discouraging, but...pretty much the way I see it.
I said to someone today that I don’t trust the media, and don’t consume it anymore (haven’t for nearly 20 years now) and they asked why, and I told them I had personal experiences where I saw the national media tell outright lies about it (in particular, the 2012 conservative march on Washington) and they said something along the lines of “They aren’t right all the time, but why do you discount them completely?”
I asked “How many times does someone have to lie to you for you to distrust and discount them?”
The answer is only a couple of times for most normal people. Most people can forgive one lie. Many can forgive more than one. But it drops off pretty quickly after that.
And the media lies constantly.
Funny thing happened to me yesterday.
I have TRUMP 45 Vanity License Plates on my Car and when I was driving home from work a guy pulls up next to me.
He rolls down his window and says, Thank You for having that License Plate. Things like that give me hope.
Of course I was accosted by a Mexican guy while buying Gas at Costco a few weeks ago. My Plates offended him and he just went off ranting and raving about how bad President Trump is.
I just looked at him and said, whatever, this is America. I figured he was too far gone and might go ballistic if I attempted to refute his idiocy.
I live in South Orange County in CA. It used to be the last bastion of Conservatism on the CA Coast. Unfortunately the last Election changed that. OC went for Hillary, probably due to North OC which is slowly turning into Mexico.
