Connecticut Lottery App Misread Winners as Losers

The Connecticut lottery's mobile app malfunctioned over the weekend, causing some winning tickets to read as losers.

Lottery officials shut down the app for an hour after identifying the error that took place from 12:25 p.m. on Saturday through 10:34 a.m. on Monday and encouraged players who checked their tickets during that time to scan them again.

"If you scanned draw tickets during that time, please check your tickets again. The Mobile App 'Scan Tickets' feature is now fully operational," the lottery said. "You can also check CT Lottery tickets at a Ticket Checker available at all CT Lottery Retailers."

The lottery didn't reveal to the Connecticut Post how many tickets were affected, but did clarify the malfunction only included "draw" game tickets, while "instant" tickets and other functions of the app continue to work normally.

Lottery officials received about eight emailed complaints, the Hartford Courant reported, and said they are working with their vendor, Scientific Games, to investigate the cause of the malfunction

That was a Freudian slip!

If you now live in Connecticut...YOU ARE a LOSER!

I lived in CT over 25 years ago: Before State Income Tax, They had a Republican Gov., and Pubbie Congress Critters!

Now the State mascot is Rosa DeLauro and its Sinator is the Viet Nam Vet. Blumenthal

State lottos have been repeatedly fixed. We know of a few cases that were exposed and went on for years.

Don’t ever have a clerk at the lottery ticket counter check your number......stories abound about clerks telling ticket holders their ticket is a loser.

The clerk then tosses the ticket into a wastebasket....and when the ticket holder leaves the store, the clerk retrieves the ticket....b/c it’s actually a winner.

Another method to avoid theft of your ticket is to immediately sign the back of the ticket at time of purchase.
