In not so ancient times a 15 year old boy was considered a man and would often be starting a family. Our system of coddling the youth into their 20s is insane.
I’m not sure our youth are that coddled when it comes to sex. They have 24/7 access to porn via phones and computers. Heck, movies, tv shows and even commercials inundate kids with sex. They are growing up too fast.
You make a valid point, but we have artificially extended childhood, and have statutory laws on the books.
I would be for returning to such an age, and substituting trade schools for most colleges, so young men and women could become adults sooner.
