Davidson is correct. Those of us old enough to remember the Cultural Revolution are swimming in deja vu.

"One reason that the Left is so interested in the control of history is that it is perfectly aware of the murderous failures of the past and intends to repeat them, "better" this time..."

Sure as I know anything, I know this - they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, ten? They'll swing back to the belief that they can make people... better. And I do not hold to that. So no more runnin'. I aim to misbehave.

I do suppose that is true, but it comes from a place of fear. Fear that it can no longer be stopped and if one complies, ...well, death is a few more days away. I think it actually is fear of being killed or socially destroyed by these revolutionaries. They are trying to keep the peace today, when they should be trying to keep the peace for tomorrow’s children.

I knew when Trump took office we’d have this ‘fight,’ I pray everyday God gives Trump/Pence the wisdom to lead us through it ...May God Save the Republic.

Lincoln had to enact emergency powers, those same powers enacted today ...can one even contemplate the reaction? they already think Trump is some totalitarian dictator in the make... Yes, we are in deep, deep trouble.

Exactly what it is, cultural revolution. Mind control. Abolish the past.

I included the Mao Cultural Revolution in a reply, in another thread, within the last 24 hours, along with the Nazi Kristal Night & other cultural atrocities. (Do not remember the thread.)

Of course in Mao's case you had the "great leap forward," where aged intellectuals from the coast were forcibly removed to the boondocks and deliberately worked to death in the fields.

America's Trump haters are still in the learning stages of how to abuse others. We will ignore this at our most severe peril.

I always wondered what people were thinking, just before those revolutions took place, just before the rise of Hitler, etc.

I guess today we’re learning.

What I truly find stunning though, is they don’t see that they are what they are claiming to hate?

As realization of what is about to happen peculates to the surface of the average American psyche, events will begin to move much more swiftly.

Also like Mao's cultural revolution, critical thinkers are being driven out of our universities. Admittedly, Mao had the intellectuals killed, but our Left today is content with shaming dissenters into silence and destroying their livelihoods by driving their employers to fire them.

Conservative states should vow to raise 2 confederate statues for every one that is torn down. People should start decorating their front yards with statues of Robert E Lee etc.

We need more statues!! Build them, raise them!

We are entering a very dangerous period in our history.

We entered it long ago. Some are just now recognizing what is happening. You can't politically indoctrinate a couple of generations of students without consequences.

Yes, that’s exactly what it’s like and Revolutionary Communist Party (Mao worshippers) are in force at many protests.

I wonder how many people know that the first slave owner here in the United States of America was black?

How many people are aware that thousands of other free blacks in the South were, themselves, slave owners?

The first slave owner in America was a black tobacco farmer named Anthony Johnson who came to the American colonies in August, 1619 after being sold into slavery by an enemy African tribe to Arab slave traders who in turn sold Johnson as an indentured servant to a merchant working for the Virginia Company in the American colonies. After completing his indenture in 1623, he was regarded as a "free negro" and subsequently became a slave owner himself after acquiring a large plot of farmland of his own.

It is not clear if Anthony Johnson also kept his white indentured servants as slaves, but it is clear that many of his indentured servants were white!

The following are must-reads.

ANTHONY JOHNSON

Ergo the moral of this story is that The father of legalized slavery in America was a black man.

So while the activists are busy tearing down Confederate statues all over the South in protest of their being a reminder of the slavery issues of the past, maybe when these cultural Marxist hypocrites get to Washington D.C. somebody ought to tear down the statue of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in protest of white slaves/"indentured servants" held by black slaveowners of the past.

The great irony is that the Left perpetuates slavery in the welfare ghettos it has created, in the inner-city schools it has perpetuated, and in the identity politics it practices. Welcome to the modern plantation.

It is NOT just the Left that is trying to tear down history. REPUBLICAN governors and pols are doing their share in having statues removed, placards replaced, buildings renamed, etc.

Fools and cowards, just hoping the crocodile eats them last.

At the time the statues were placed, the communities were inhabited by intelligent, decent, productive people. After about 1965 or so and Lyndon Johnson got going, these communities were destroyed by the forced influx of unproductive outsiders and criminals.

The productive people moved away, leaving their monuments behind. It's like the Planet of the Apes where the apes inhabit the ruins of a once great society.

LBJ "lies a-mold'ring in the grave" but his evil goes marching on.

It is NOT just the Left that is trying to tear down history. REPUBLICAN governors and pols are doing their share

In Tennessee, Governor Bill Haslan has called for review of all Confederate icons for removal.

And yes, he is a Republican governor.....

.....for the time being.
