I disagree with the characterization in the headline.
Romney wasn’t trying to explain himself. He was piling on, demanding that Trump issue a formal apology. Romney hasn’t backtracked in the least from his unequivocal support for Antifa. Neither has McCain. Or Ryan. Or Rubio. Or McConnell. Or any of them.
I’m tired of being played for a fool by Republicans. They are just as much the enemy of the people as any democrat is. They’re maybe even worse because they tell us they are on or side before betraying us every single time. I’ll stick with my state and local Republicans, but I’ll not support the national Republican party in any way any more.
The national republican establishment consisting of former elected and current elected officials is unaccountable. Unless there is visible and audible pushback they will be lost in their own minds and spout self absorbed opinions forever.
freepers....we are our own people....we're patriots and we're pragmatists...we're the salt of the earth and built this nation and kept it running...and, we're the most charitable, loving people out there...
we don't need no stinking republican or democrap party...
“Ill not support the national Republican party in any way any more.”
Maybe one of Bannon’s projects will be to begin organizing a credible third party. Or he could start the wheels in motion to co-opt an existing party (Conservative or Independent), strengthen it, and create something viable for 2020.
