IOW we need to fight them and defeat them “over there”, so they won’t come “over here “ to attack us and murder us.

I’m not buying the Afghanistan story, something else is up. Trump is the last person who would ever tell the enemy what our strategy is going to be or any troop moves. Remember the Bill Clinton rape victim bait and switch presser.

We are not interested in conquering Afghanistan. Only killing off the Radical Islam types. ISIS is setting up shop there. Are you not in favor of going after ISIS? Remember President Trump campaigned on the issue. By the way we are killing them off in Libya.

You cannot be serious. Obama had our troops hands tied for 8 of those years. President Trump has already changed the ROE and will most likely give our soldiers pretty much a free hand in dealing with the situation.
You don’t think the Russians had a free hand 35 years ago? Afghanistan is called the place were empires go to die for a reason. There is no winning there. And if you think an additional 4000 troops is going to make any difference at all, you were living in a fantasy world
