LOOK: Susan Sarandon joins more than 1,000 at Kaepernick rally at NFL offices

The fury surrounding the employment status of Colin Kaepernick has been taken to a new level, reaching full-blown froth on Wednesday night in the form of a rally at NFL headquarters attended by thousands to protest Kaepernick being unsigned by a team.

[Snip]

According to Tim Rohan of TheMMQB.com, the group of activists who organized the rally -- The People's Consortium for Human and Civil Rights, led by president Reverend Stephen Green -- had three demands of the NFL.

  1. That the NFL institute a policy to protect players' rights to have freedom of speech, so they can kneel, raise a fist or express opinions on social issues, if they wish.

  2. That the NFL establish a review board to, Green says, "examine issues of social injustice." As Tamika Mallory, a social activist and co-organizer of the 2017 Women's March, put it in her speech, "The NFL, just like the NYPD, cannot police itself. Any organization that is only being looked at from within is a failing organization. There must be a unit of people internally and externally that look at racial and cultural sensitivity issues within the NFL."

  3. And that the NFL develop some sort of program to "reinvest into the communities in which they serve, where there are high rates of unemployment, high rates of mass incarceration. To re-invest those funds into the community," Green says.

Typically speaking, the noise surrounding an issue like this dies out once the games start being played. But this is not a typical situation: Kap doesn't have a job, which means with each week that passes and each horrific quarterback performance that we watch unfold, the noise could get louder.

If there was a practical way to short the NFL, I would do it.

Easy money, IMO. And I’ve been a Giants fan for 60 years.

A team needs to hire him, put him in the starting position and the offensive line can get him nailed every single play until he either is dead for injuried beyond repair...

End of story...

This is what these idiots like Sarandon are upset about enough to march — some black, millionaire who isn’t being hired, but no marches for the hundreds of inner city blacks in Chicago killed every year. Priorities are pretty upside down.

Strange hero to pick to rally around.

Hopefully the left keeps up their nonsense. They will further alienate reasonable Americans who just want to work, raise their kids and live in peace.

"Kaepernick has been unemployed ever since his decision......"

All the more reason everyone should be throwing urine filled balloons and chucks of ripped up asphalt at the cops.

Barry Bostwick and Sarandon from “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” They were dating at the time.

One of the lamest movies of all time.
I have seen the entire movie but have never been able to watch it clear thru in one setting.
Even the first time I paid money to see it.

I remember the first time I saw that film, it was kind of campy and they had the midnight showings where you went and threw popcorn, etc. Today I might be able to watch parts of it, but thats all.

We should make some demands of our own to the NFL. We should ask for proportionate representation of Caucasians within those employed by the NFL teams. We should ask for salary caps, that equate to what the “common person” can earn in the real world. We should demand affordable ticket prices and free transportation, in case we want to go to any games.

Just gettin’ started...

I have to say that now I’m hoping so hard that he is placed on a major NFL team, great expectations, and fails spectacularly for everyone to see.

Theres probably a scramble for teams looking for a quarterback to sign anyone just so they can all use the “we have our team for the year” excuse to avoid hiring ck.

In fact, i just heard that the Jets signed Joe Namath to be their backup QB this year. Sorry colin.
