Agreed, but they’ve been largely dismissing wind damage in planning for this, looking at rain and flood potential instead. Well reasoned for high Cat 1 or 2 wind, but Cat 4 exceeded most expectations.

“High school levelled”...well sometimes they put temporary classrooms in mobile homes. And other times, in 50 year old massive masonry fortresses. It’s second or third hand info, but backed up by other anecdotes.

Flood event’s one thing. Preceeded with significant structural damages, raises the bar a fair ways.

The wind damage in Rockport will be catastrophic, but that is a small town. Thank God my parents moved away from there 11 years ago. Now we wait for the main act to unfold, namely the unimaginable rains.
