My sister in law lives in Port Lavaca. She and her hubby will be going inland to Victoria to stay with our nephew, but that may not be far enough. I wonder if this is going to be a catastrophic event for their home.
And Port Lavaca is flat as a pool table, which means there is virtually no elevation above sea level in Matagorda Bay.
There is nowhere for 53 inches of rain to go.

Port Lavaca could get fifty three (53) inches of rain!!! Key word is "could". Someone might get that amount somewhere if multiple rain bands hit for long durations. But the model predictions of those bands can be taken with a grain of salt.
