This would be the first direct hit of a hurricane at Corpus Christi since Aug. 3,1970, so it doesn’t happen that often along the Texas coast.

If there is an expectant mother close to her due date anywhere along the coast, there is a good chance she will go into labor and have the baby around the time of land fall. We have a “hurricane baby” in our family and the maternity ward was full of moms birthing babies!

I heard earlier that it’s moved a bit northerly and won’t be a direct hit on Corpus but more around Matagorda Bay.
