Protesters in Milwaukee want repeal of the Second Amendment. The signs at the NRA Carry Guard Expo show the intentions of those who want a disarmed society.
They are not talking half measures. They want to repeal the existing Constitutional right. At Milwaukee, they did not make much of an impression.
Inside the Wisconsin Center in downtown Milwaukee, thousands are learning from instructors, and checking out new products at the expo. Outside the convention center, a small group gathered in opposition.
We don't need a provision in our constitution saying anyone has a right to have a gun, said Lee Goodman, Peaceful Communities.
The stood holding signs, protesting guns and the NRA.
The more guns out there, the more violence there will be and it's never going to stop, never going to stop, said Linda Raciti, demonstrator.
What the cameras did not catch were the open carriers demonstrating in favor of open carry. A trusted source noted that there were a number of open carriers at the event. I have spoken to the writer. I have known the person he is referring to for many years.
A friend of mine went to down town Milwaukee to the NRA Carry Guard Expo.As he was talking with some friends a on duty MPD officer came in and started talking with one of the group that the officer obviously knew.
The officer was discussing the counter protestors out side and said that there were about 50 of them in one area.
Then he said there were two open carriers across the street with pistols and rifles.

The estimates of 50 protestors by the police officer seems rather high.
Same old aging hippies who still pine to rekindle the glory days of the 60’s.
This is the proper way to oppose people having guns imo. The constitution provided provisions for changing it, and the bar to change any part of it is high as it should be.
However, recognizing that the 2A exists, and it is what protects private gun rights and then working to amend/overturn the 2A I can accept - i.e. accept that this is the right way to affect the change they want (even if I disagree with it).
Whats much worse is 10’s of thousands of bureaucrats/politicians/police chiefs each trying to effectively overturn the 2A by regulating gun ownership out of existence.
I guess they figured out they'd get too warm a welcome.
This illustrates the danger predicted by James Madison at the Federal Convention. Every state delegation opposed a Bill of Rights, because in time it was feared that our rights would be limited to those enumerated.
If the BOR didn’t exist, it would have forced scotus from our beginning to cite the Declaration and Preamble to the Constitution as its guide to rights. Unlike today, state declarations of rights would have had merit.
So these clowns want to repeal the 2A? Fine. If our jurisprudence was actually in line with first principles, the absence of the 2A wouldn’t mean government could confiscate guns, because we have a natural right to self-defense, and no power was granted to government to confiscate guns, or regulate the press, or establish a national religion.
These anti-2nd amendment zealots apparently do not understand that the 2nd amendment does not confer the right to keep and bear arms. That right predates the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights asserts that the right may not be infringed.
Do these same protestors believe that the 1st amendment confers the freedom of religion? Confers freedom of speech? That repealing the 1st amendment would destroy the freedoms protected by the 1st amendment?
The Constitution does not grant the power to Congress to infringe any of these freedoms. Yet, people think it does. The Anti-Federalists were correct—The BoR, instead of protecting these rights, have created the idea that government has an unspoken power to “regulate” (i.e. infringe) these rights. And here we are today.
These people need to grow up. Just how do they think they could actually steal the American people’s firearms — even if they passed 500 new laws or amendments. ?? If they tried, Do they imagine that Americans wouldn’t defend themselves and their property? What do they imagine the firearms are for, in the first place, if not self defense and defense against tryannical government like the kind they want? These protesters must have ingested too many hallucinatory mushrooms
The profundity of their message is only surpassed by the immensity of their numbers...
Looks like 8 UW-M professors took the afternoon off before a 3 day holiday. Commies All!
Wow, completely opposite views yet NO ONE from the gun side threw water on them, or beat them, or sprayed them, or struck them with sticks.
Very instructive.
Gosh I WONDER who the real problem is, right?
Do these morons realize that if someone is breaking into their home at 2 AM and they call the police, the police are under no obligation to post haste to their rescue?
This Ping List is for all things pertaining to the 2nd Amendment.

I worked at place and my direct peer was an anti-gun liberal who liked to he a nice civil debate. Yeah it was 15 yes too
This one shut him up.
“When the crazy guy comes in the room to kill us all, you will be the one standing behind me saying nice shot.”
“The more guns out there, the more violence there will be”
How is it possible that she has missed the mountains of evidence to the contrary?
“and it’s never going to stop, never going to stop”
Not until Jesus comes again in glory, no, it’s not.
At least your friend was willing and able to chat with you - discuss. So many left wingers nowadays won’t / can’t do anything much more than regurgitate commie- Nazi - islamonazi - soros ideological bull bleep — without any discussion, thought
I count 10.
These protestors are morons.

Name a period before guns were invented when this peaceful utopia existed. Before the invention of the gun, the strong could always brutalize the weak. A gun allows a 90 year old, 100 lb great grandmother to defend herself against a 6’4”, 300 lb thug.
and we just lost sheriff clarke. not a good day for us.
