Antifa is OWS version 3.0 and they are just as incompetent as ever, just with more violence, and people are looking to the causes and sources of funding. When they all arrive on the same bus SOMEONE has to wonder who paid for that.

I think you have this precisely right. They rather quickly realized that they were facing an increasingly angry population of heavily armed citizens, and the thought of the consequences terrified them. And rightfully so.
After Trump made the statement heard ‘round the world and noted that there is violence across the spectrum, it caused a lot of knee-jerk reactions and opened the door for folks to explain to even the densest folks that antifa and others were the main causes of violence and that got so big that they have no choice but to “notice” what this run-on sentence depicts - antifa and BLM (not mentioned by them yet) is an entity that relies and depends on violence to try to intimidate and/or hurt/kill those that stand in the way of them organizing behind the next Che....

They will ostensibly condemn Antifa, while using them as a “good cop bad cop” negotiating tactic
The best answer is some one of the mentally disturbed people on the left had an epiphany and figured out the moral people do not adhere to the radical arm of the Democrat party
