Meet the Swamp: Donald Trump Punts September Agenda to December After Meeting with Congress
Breitbart ^

President Donald Trump met with Congressional leaders at the White House on Wednesday to discuss the many pressing issues facing Washington, D.C., in September.

But instead of planning to pass any long-term funding, the president appeared willing to punt his big agenda items to December and focus on passing Hurricane relief funding.

Trump met with House Speaker Paul Ryan, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

In a joint statement after the meeting, Pelosi and Schumer signaled that Trump had made a deal.

He's telling Ryan and McConnell they are no better than the Dems and he's willing to demonstrate it in case their "constituents" have any doubts.

I'd wager he figured Ryan and McConnell were going to bollux the whole thing up to make him look bad he opted to tell them he knows what traitorous creeps they are by sidestepping.

Yes, probably so. Can’t blame him, really.

Shut the gov’t down. Every president in the modern era has.

Stick to a plan, any plan. No wall, no tax cutes, no BOCare repeal.......I get it, he’s done great work repealing ExOs but that’s easy stuff and a lions share of them were illegal or just stupid.

So far he’s done nothing legislatively and cutting deals with Schumer on debt increases isn’t going to get him any more love in the Senate because Schumer NEVER crosses the isle.

This was a cave, pure and simple.

“So far he’s done nothing legislatively”

Wrong.

Trump is not a legislator.

The GOP is the legislator, and it has done nothing.

Trump is not a person who accepts nothing being done.

Thus...

Dude - his first pass at replacing BOCare was with Trumpcare and his budget was a mess.

I agree the Congress is useless but he’s not without fault here.

Who knew the 5th Ave shooting quip would turn out to be so accurate?

Don’t know why you want me to hold him accountable for legislative failures when he is the executive branch, not the legislative branch.

Don’t know why you want me to hold him accountable for not working with people who flat out refuse to work with him and have lied to us every time they needed our vote.

I’ve had it with the GOP, and I’m not mad at Trump.

My question is when are we going to deal with our fraudulent party in a way that matters?

Here’s what Seb Gorka tweeted with the photo:

“Looks like the #RESISTANCE has surrendered.

#ShePersisted for a while. But not too long.

The Master of the Deal.”

“My question is when are we going to deal with our fraudulent party in a way that matters?”

Well I thought this was the whole reason Trump was elected in the first place! The whole “drain the swamp” and the notion that Trump will get everyone to do his bidding simply because he was this awesome businessman.

Reality is at his core he’s a NY moderate at best. I believe he truly wants to accomplish certain things like the wall and tax reform and has Congress fighting him on that, but on matters of healthcare and the budget he really doesn’t want to do what we all want him to do but he believes in socialized medicine and he believes in debt financing.

Reagan admitted in years after his term that one of his biggest mistakes was cutting a deal with Kennedy on the 1986 Immigration Act as it turned out Kennedy has zero compunction to hold up his end of the deal. The difference here is Trump is not cutting deals or playing some mind blowing game that will show he’s a genius in the end, he’s simply going along for the ride with people he’s given money to in the past.

It was the reason Trump was elected in the first place, however, Marco Rubio was also re-elected at the same time, so that shows the GOP really still doesn’t get it about the GOP.

And no, Trump isn’t a NY moderate at best. The GOP is a NY moderate at best. Trump has shown himself to be considerably more conservative and more aligned with voting conservatives than anyone in the GOP.

In fact you are showing me that you really don’t get it about the GOP, and I’m starting to suspect that you are/ were a Never Trump Ted Cruz type. Am I right?

I voted for Trump and the primaries are over so try to keep up.

Just because I point out Trump’s deficiencies doesn’t mean I’m against his success.

Yep it took a real master negotiator to get Pelosi and Schumer to agree to raising the Debt Limit and supporting DACA.

How do you spell Hillary with a T-R-U-M-P

Don’t know how much more winning I can take with Pelosi and Schumer now running the show.

> Pretty disgusting. I hope knows what he’s doing. He should read his ‘Snake’ poem.

He knows what he’s doing. The problem with the snakes is the GOP leadership is snakes to. To beat the snakes, play them off each other.

“Yep it took a real master negotiator to get Pelosi and Schumer to agree to raising the Debt Limit and supporting DACA.”

Sounds like the exact same thing the GOP supports.

How do you spell Hillary with GOP?

Oh, and they all voted for her too, and Pelosi and Schumer have been running the show the entire time, so yeah, you will take whatever winning Trump delivers and be happy with it, because you weren’t ever going to get any other form of winning, were you?

You didn’t answer my question, and you no longer have to.

I withdraw it, because I know I’m right :)

And you’re really only pointing out your own deficiencies.

If I were a “never Trump” guy I wouldn’t have voted for him. It’s science.

I can see I’m dealing with a drone so..........drone on.

Nope. You were a Never Trump person who realized, at some point, that you had no choice but to vote for him.

I’m not a drone, and I’m not stupid either.

True, I’m a conservative and Trump is not so I did not support him in the primaries. But no matter, whether my vote was forced or voluntary I didn’t hate him enough NOT to vote for him.

As I’ve said many posts ago, I want him to succeed but I’m not willing to look at a debt ceiling deal cut with Schumer as his being some mastermind. It was a cave, pure and simple. No deal, no art, no sense.

So feel free to close your eyes and tell yourself he’s playing someone on this or re-read his book to make yourself feel better.

No one called you stupid. Blind..........yeah, ok.
