Like it or not, the smartphones won the consumer gadget war.

They might win the gadget war with consumers, but I'm not competing in some gadget war, and I can assure you, I'll be up when they're down.☺ That's what it's about for me.

Maybe. But for the most part, the smartphones did just fine in the recent hurricanes. Thousands of hot spots remained available in even the hardest hit areas. There are apps already available to get just about any radio station you want. And if you lost power, you can easily re-charge the phones in your car. That’s what I did when I lost power for a few days in an ice storm a few years back. The Trump Administration even put out a FEMA app for storm victims to quickly get assistance. It will only get better from here.
