Trump's Spending Deal Funds Planned Parenthood
CNS ^

Posted on 09/11/2017 3:15:44 PM PDT by Cubs Fan

(CNSNews.com) - The spending deal that President Donald Trump cut last week with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.)--and that was passed by a Republican-controlled Congress—breaks one of Trump’s unambiguous campaign promises: It funds Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider.

Fiscal 2017 will end on Sept. 30 and the spending law Trump signed Friday will essentially continue federal funding from that date through Dec. 8 at the same levels and for the same purposes as the legislation currently funding the governmen

That means both Planned Parenthood’s Title X and Medicaid funding can continue into fiscal 2018, which begins on Oct. 1.

This is the third spending deal President Trump has signed that funds Planned Parenthood.

Art of the deal? This was no deal, this was a complete fail.

A deal would mean both sides got something. Our side got nothing--no wall funding, debt ceiling raised, planned parenthood funded, and now, to make it worse, a DACA Bill may be around the corner (another campaign promise in the balance).

Trump has gone soft, he needs to find a way to become the fighter we voted for again.

B. S.

Trump supported an Obamacare repeal that completely removed Planned Parenthood funding. He can’t help it if the House and Senate can’t get their act together and approve a plan that will accomplish what we want.

This writer thinks that Hurricane Harvey Flood Relief is only a Democrat program? Seriously?

Trump pushed this through to get the money to where it was needed right away. Most Republicans voted for it.

I would not hold it up over Planned Parenthood funding, and I want people from PP to go to prison right now for the body part issues uncovered over the last 18 months.

People will use just about anything to trash Trump.

A—holes!

Trump got what he wanted. I doubt Ryan and McConnell are crying, either. All three got what they wanted.

If that is how the new budget ends the year, he’ll soften support, embolden a challenger. On every topic that counts we are losing: Planned Parenthood, No Amnesty, Build the Wall, Deport Illegal Aliens, Repeal/Replace Obamacare, etc.

Lighten up, Frances.

You’re just cranky after the Brewers swept your Cubs this past weekend. ;)

I agree with D.O. You cannot let these ‘opinion pieces’ get you all worked up.

If it isn't a Democrat program, why did Trump choose to work with Schumer?

Trump has obviously given up on his campaign promises that he made. If he maintains this buckle and appease BS, his popularity from his supporters will tank under the realization that they have gotten the old DC shaft once again. Thanks a lot Trumpy. Javanka wins again. Must be nice to be a 1 percenter.

There is NOTHING wrong with criticizing trump when he doesn’t come through for conservatism.

that is the ONLY time I will ever criticise him EVER.

He needs to get it back on track.

I could understand the bitch if it was a one year CR or budget.

But the outrage is unwarranted IMHO.

I agree with you. Trump is limited by the RINO’s in Congress.
We’ve got a lot more work to do at the polls to put a team in place that will truly enable Trump to fulfill his promises.

Because leaders of his own party wanted to pass a 15 month resolution. Trump wants them to have to face it over and over so they will be motivated to limit their spending and help him get our government under control.

With a three month resolution, they won’t be as quick to blow money to curry favor with people. That’s a big plus for Conservatism.

The Republicans want to blackmail the Left into getting the 15 month resolution. Trump didn’t care for that.

I didn’t either.

The funding for Planned Parenthood isn’t new here. It’s a continuation of something already taking place.

I don’t like it. The Republicans could have passed Obamacare repeal by now if they wanted. They didn’t. They didn’t care about the unborn one bit! When have they really? NEVER!

Now bashing Trump here? Silly.

He wants it ended, but his own party is wreckless these days.

He had to put them on notice, and here he did.

I appreciate your comments.

This was an increase of a debt ceiling. It was not a budget.

That means that the US can continue to borrow money to pay its legal debts.

A budget is where separate items get written in.

You reveal more about yourself here than Trump.

Trump has fought to get tax reform going, and end Obamacare as we know it. He also supported the inclusion of the defunding of Planned Parenthood in the health care bill.

Did the Republican get back on track and pass the defunding of Planned Parenthood? Well, did they? NO!

Did the 15 month Republican continuing resolution have Planned Parenthood defunding language in it? Ten cents will get you a dollar if they did.

This is total B.S.

Trying to use disaster relief for blackmail, is not a Conservative tactic.

This budget cycle is not concluded. It's not even October yet. You do not know what will be contained in any legislation concluded in December.

Your outrage is the product of emotional manipulation.
