Absolutely child abuse. In a saner time, those parent(s) would have had their child rightfully taken away from them and adopted by a saner set of parents.

I still remember when I was that age and my sister got me playing dolls with her and such and baking cookies on the play stove. I didn't know any better. I was just 5 or 6 years old. If that happened today, who knows what would have happened to me.

When I was that age I was called a Tom boy. I had two older brothers, I wanted a toy gun, my best friends were boys. I wished I was a boy. Now I know how blessed at 69 to be a girl.
