PHILADELPHIA -- Rhys Hoskins mixed it up Thursday night at Citizens Bank Park.
He crushed his 18th home run of the season in the second inning against Marlins right-hander Vance Worley, but this one sailed into the stands in right-center field. It is the first opposite-field homer of his career.
Hoskins is the fastest player on record to hit 18 homers, needing only 34 games to reach the mark. Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez had been the previous fastest, hitting his 18th and 19th homers in his 45th career game. Hoskins crushed an 0-2 fastball from Worley. The ball left his bat at 101.2 mph and traveled a projected 391 feet.

Tribe just won number 22 on a walk off hit in the 10th. Went into the 9th losing by a run and tied it up.
Tribe winning streak continues with a win in 10 innings.
As far as I’m concerned, the Indians now own the MLB Record, because the Giants had a tie during their streak, so it shouldn’t count.
(I need more bread BTW...*w*..... Garson?)
Phillies have a good young core of guys in their early 20s that look to have serious potential. Hoskins, Aaron Nola, Nick Williams, Odubel Herrera (mental mistakes notwithstanding) are all 25 or under. A trio of hot bats and a potential ace in the making, good core to build around. Maybe, just maybe, the dark days in the wilderness are coming to an end ... next year ...
