A Financial Times journalist was killed by a crocodile while washing his hands at a lagoon in Sri Lanka during a holiday with pals.
Paul McClean, 25, an Oxford University graduate, is understood to have wandered away from his group of friends to find a toilet when he was attacked.
The British victim is believed to have been dragged under water at a lagoon called Crocodile Rock near a popular surf spot after

G Gordon Liddy tells the story of being in the tropics somewhere and the guide stopping and telling a group of people “get out of the river or you will get eaten”. They replied “we are from the Peace Corps.” Apparently the crocodiles were not impressed with their credentials.
The article originally came from British papers, and “washing his hands” is the polite British way of saying “taking a crap”.
So, Mr. Reporter probably was squatting facing away from the lake, when the crocodile suddenly saw his breakfast ...
“They recovered the body, so he wasnt eaten as Faux News claims”
I’ve always heard they store their food under snags etc... for ripening.
As a ‘financial journalist ‘ I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. All other fake news journalists should schedule a ‘swim’ there.
Exactly. Crocs can’t chew, they crush and tear. Tenderized (rotten) meat is much easier to consume for them. Guess their tastebuds are nuke proof.
Well, ain’t that a pisser!
Taken where? Gads...who writes this sh*t?
People with a firm grasp of the English language do.
What do you call a member of the media being eaten by a crocodile?
A Good Start!
Now, that right there is funny.
I believe that is one standard use of the term to be “taken” in this context often involves wildlife ( “taken by a leopard”, “taken by a shark”, etc.)
The term is also used by hunters in accounting their harvests. “I took two rabbits and a pheasant”.
“No,” The croc said to buddies,”it did not taste like chicken. But it did taste a little queer”
just another climate change catastrophe ..
Is the floor open to nominate other [so-called] journalists to go to the scene and "investigate"?
That is true too...
Never knew me a better time.
And I guess I never will.
Crocodile Rockin’ is somethin’ shockin’ ...
No, he went to a toilet which was near the water. I read the same thing initially. Poorly written article.
There’s no professional courtesy anymore.
I withhold expressing my feelings and condolences until I learn if he worked for CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, NYT, or ESPN.
