Remember, they were the ones who announced the “deal”.
Trump appears to have reached out and not said no. It’s a proven tactic to reach out to an opponent in a good natured way...and not say “no” to anything they propose. It keeps them engaged and positive.
And it’s done for outside observers who like to see comity. It has nothing to do with the main deal. It’s just a means to get there.

Really? What do you make of KAC saying “If there is no funding for the wall, no deal can be made.”?
Sounds more like: ‘if not this, then no that’, implying ‘if this, then that’. Far different than simply saying ‘no’.
