Obama replied that White House officials did not order the surveillance of US citizens. Those investigations were handled by the Justice Department.
Just months after Trump took office, special counsel Mueller convinced a judge to allow its investigators to enter Manafort’s home unannounced, the NYT reported, obtaining the warrant by showing a judge that there was evidence of a crime in Manafort’s home, intimating he was likely to destroy the evidence. The feds then executed the raid in dramatic fashion early July 26 by picking the lock while Manafort was in bed, the Times said. Agents grabbed reams of documents stuffed into binders, while copying files from Manafort’s computer, even snapping photographs of his suits.
The FBI was looking for evidence that Manafort had maintained a secret offshore bank account — possibly to obtain money from Russian operatives. Mueller’s investigators followed the raid by warning Manafort that they intended to indict him. The raid was just part of the aggressive probe by Mueller and his team.
The investigation has widened to include not only the Russian collusion but also whether Trump associates have had any financial entanglements with Moscow, the Times said. Ex-national security director Michael Flynn is being probed for his lobbying work on behalf of Turkey and his undeclared meetings and trips paid for by the Russian government.
The issue remains of whether Trump obstructed justice when he fired then-FBI Director James Comey and his attempt to prove a Russian connection. Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein then appointed Mueller as special counsel.

It gets better. They wiretapped Manafort in 2010, found nothing. They did it again in 2016 based on a document that Comey’s FBI helped pay for, along with the Bush campaign and other NeverTrumpers.
The wiretap order was issued based on lies that the FBI helped gin up. Let that sink in, comrade.

This smacks of secret police tactics. If this is what we know, imagine what we don’t know that has gone on in order to spy on political opponents. This entire apparatus needs to be exposed.
I wish we had an AG who would go after this.
The Deep State (of which the FBI is the enforcement arm) will leak everything they know to the press to sabotage Trump. Therefore, if the raid or wiretaps had disclosed anything, we would have heard about it by now.
Whoever came up with the phrase “Trumped-up charges” was more prescient than they knew.

I understand the need to reflexively criticize anything that resembles Gestapo-like tactics in a shadowy case like this, but I would not dismiss the possibility that Manafort was a legitimate target of an investigation and had everything coming to him. I've never like the idea of Americans getting paid huge sums of money by foreign governments and political figures for ANY reason -- but especially for help in political campaigns.
Just WHEN is the crime organization in our government going to be stopped/drained/fired and then prosecuted?!!

Sessions has been in the Swamp far too long. Just as with the other sneaky denizens and slimy creatures of the Swamp, Washington DC is his real home.
And growing up in the 1960’s, FBI agents were my heroes.

BACKSTORY Through the last half of 2016, the Ob ama administration was desperately searching for evidence of some link between the Trump presidential campaign and Russia.

<><> In addition, we now know that Susan “The Sifter” Rice had an operation wherein raw NSA intelligence was sifted through for names of Trump associates, in hopes of uncovering dirt of some sort.*
<><> These efforts came up dry. The Obama administration found no compromising information about Trump or any of his associates.
Not surprisingly, ever since the Trump Inauguration, the Democratic Party, especially its NY/DC press wing, has relentlessly pushed the Trump/Russia story. But that hasn’t stopped Democrat factotums in the press from talking about little else for the last three months.
This is the kicker-—— all along, the Democrats have known that their spying produced nothing.
This whole Obama/Rice/Comey/Mueller/Democrat spy apparat is almost unbelievably sordid. The relevant Congressional committees should investigate thoroughly, and criminal prosecutions should follow where laws have been broken.

The issue is: the evil entities have NO legal grounds to do anything but be prosecuted! If they are able to yet carry on their witch hunt, evil is still in charge.. and that is where Trump has to finally realize HE is the morality and the only lawful entity left to set this ship back on solid constitutional foundation .. the ONLY one who can drain the swamp! .. and if he won’t .. if he doesn’t ...

Maybe but that’s not what Mueller was hired to investigate. We have a regular FBI for that.

My problem with these compromised politicians and judges is that they care more for themselves than America and the American people. If they did care about this country they would be exposing the people in power and the mechanisms used.
