Mistake. Should have said they are artists and only accept contracts they are artistically interested in. No, they should have said that their religion teaches them that homosexuals are aberrations that God makes a habit of destroying with fire from time to time, and that to associate with them is a sin.
Double down on the religious angle and then argue "First Amendment."
